Tower of Fantasy Alyss Guide: Best matrices, team comps and materials required for leveling

Tips to play the newest Simulcrum in Tower of Fantasy!

Tower of Fantasy has a new patch update, Version 2.3 where they introduce a new limited Simulacrum called ‘Alyss’ along with her weapon. Alyss is a Frost DPS that can deal quick AoE damage and single-target damage with her skates. Additionally, Alyss works well as an exploration unit when players use her Butterfly mode which allows her to turn into a butterfly and fly swiftly in the air. It has been a while since the game released a Frost Simulacrum judging by her kit, Alyss seems to be a promising DPS to acquire in the party. In this guide, we will learn more about the abilities of Alyss, her best matrices, team compositions, and the materials required to level her up in Tower of Fantasy.

Tower of Fantasy Alyss Guide: Character Information

Alyss, who was previously known as M-sec 002, was the second captain of the Mirroria Security Special Forces. Due to an accidental incident with the Mirroria Defense Force Field which occurred years ago, Alyss was the first responder to defend against the Abyssants that were breaching the city of Mirroria. Alyss had risked her life but miraculously survived, however, she suffered unknown memory loss that could not be diagnosed.

Best Matrices Build for Alyss in Tower of Fantasy

Alyss’s 2-piece gives a damage buff when swapping to the weapon the matrix is used on, with an additional bonus to Frost damage, if it is a Frost weapon. With the 4-piece set on, it boosts more damage when using the Discharge, stacking up to 2 times. The matrix, unsurprisingly, is Alyss’s best-in-slot matrices and can over-power her own A1 which means it is better to invest in Alyss’s matrices rather than advancing her weapon.

Although, Alyss has a wide range of alternatives which can be up to par with her own Matrices due to her decent on-field damage. Samir, Shiro and Crow’s matrices are roughly equivalent in power to her own 4-piece matrices. Her 4-pieces give off a buffing effect. As a result, a general recommendation is prioritizing her matrices over advancements, but it is not entirely necessary to pull for the whole 4-piece set as her alternatives can easily boost her damage.

Alyss Matrix (SSR)

  • 2-piece set: Increase final damage by 4.5%/5.5%/6.5%/7.5% every time you switch to this weapon. Increase frost damage by an additional 3% for 18 seconds if it’s a frost weapon. Only the set with the highest star rating will take effect.
  • 4-piece set: Increase final damage by 6%/7.5%/9%/10.5% for 18 seconds every time you use Unyielding Wing’s discharge skill, stacking up to 2 times. Remove 1 stack when the duration ends. This set effect works in the off-hand slot and the same Matrix’s effect cannot be stacked repeatedly. Latent State’s endurance consumption is reduced by 50%.

Saki Fuwa Matrices (SSR)

  • 2-piece set: When Frost Resonance gets triggered: Every 3 seconds, deal frost damage equal to 65%/80%/95%/110% of frost ATK to enemies within a 10-meter radius and apply the Icefrost effect: Inflict 5% slow effect that lasts for 3.5 seconds, freeze targets for 3 seconds at 3 stacks (does not apply to bosses), and increase frost damage taken by the target by 5% for 18 seconds. This Matrix’s effect is also active in the off-hand slot, but only the set with the highest star rating will take effect.
  • 4-piece set: Attack the target 10 times to inflict a 12-second Flashfreeze mark. Flashfreeze: Increase frost damage dealt to the marked target by 11%/13%/15%/17%. This Matrix’s effect is also active in the off-hand slot, but only the set with the highest star rating will take effect.

Shiro (SSR)

  • 2-piece set: Increase both the damage and shatter to targets with more than 50% HP by 15%/19%/22.5%/26%.
  • 4-piece set: Upon entering battle, gain a 20%/25%/30%/35% damage boost for 35 seconds. Reset 5 seconds after exiting the battle.

Crow (SSR)

  • 2-piece set: Increase crit damage to targets with less than 60% HP by 24%/30%/36%/42%.

Samir (SSR)

  • 2-piece set: Increase damage progressively by 1% upon hitting a target. Stack up to 10/13/16/20 times. Lasts 1.5 seconds.

Claudia (SSR)

  • 2-piece set: Increase damage by 13%/17%/20%/23% when hitting a target in mid-air or initiating an aerial attack. Reset double-jump upon hitting the target in mid-air.

Best Team Comps for Alyss in Tower of Fantasy

Alyss is a Frost DPS that can deal damage both on-field and off-field. As she falls into the Frost category, she can take advantage of the Frost Resonance. Her main teams will mostly involve Saki Fuwa as they synergize well with one another. Different team comps enable more variety of matrices to build the weapons on. Here are some fun and recommended team comps that players can use to maximize their damage potential.

Line Frost Team: Lin + Alyss + Saki Fuwa

In this team comp, one can start with using Saki Fuwa and her clearing skill, as this will be the core mechanism for the rotation. Players can switch to Alyss and combine the skill with Alyss’s high-charge skill. The skill will allow releasing weapon skills and discharge skills more frequently and as a result, there will more damage output every rotation. Lin’s job is to enable her Wind Field so that it combines with Alyss’s Chilling Field and Spatial Slice to dish out high off-field damage in both stats.

Pure Frost Team: Frigg + Alyss + Saki Fuwa

The team’s main goal is to maximize the Hoarfrost Damage of the Chilling Field skill from Alyss and the support effect gained from Alyss, dealing high amounts of damage with an increased multiplier. Saki Fuwa with her Clearing skill and reduce cooldown as it is the core mechanism of the team combined it with Alyss’s high charge and support to release more weapon skills in this short amount of time. If there is any skill gap, Alyss’s DPS skills can be filled in for a high damage output.
