Top 10 Best Fighting games that you can play on your mobile devices

Ready to battle it out?

When it comes to one on one combat games, the mobile platform has been somewhat degraded by certain developers. Fighting games are arguably one of the most enjoyed genres of games on all platforms. With profound developers like EA, NetherRealm Studios, and Bandai Namco being some of the best-known developers of fighting games. While a lot of developers are yet to optimize some of their console games to the mobile platform, some developers have. Today, in this article, we have managed to give you the best fighting games that you can play on Android and iOS mobile devices.

Best Fighting Mobile Games

1. Mortal Kombat

Best Fighting Mobile Games

There weren’t really a lot of hype for Mortal Kombat before it’s release. Warner Bros and NetherRealm kept things quiet for a while before finally letting out the big news about Mortal Kombat coming to mobile devices. Although a lot of mobile gamers were left rather disappointed with the game, there were also a lot of players that hailed the game for it’s in-depth realism and console-like graphics.

Mortal Kombat offers realistic fighting along with it’s famous finishing moves and legendary fighters. Take control of Liu Kang, Scorpion, Sub-Zero, Raiden, Johnny cage, Sonya, Jax, Kitana and many more in hopes of leading them to victory in Mortal Kombat. Mortal Kombat offers really great graphics, many characters, online multiplayer, direct fighter purchase, and other modes.

But a setback which a lot of users dislike about the game is the control. NetherRealm studios took away the liberty of moving freely and controlling your character in the mobile platform of this game. Which means you can’t move your character manually, you can only Tap the screen repeatedly to punch and tap the screen to perform a special move when required. Other than that, mortal Kombat is definitely one of the best fighting games on the mobile platform.

2. Shadow Fight 2

Best Fighting Mobile Games

From the developers of Vector comes Shadow Fight. A one on one combat duel between shadows. Shadow fight 2 landed on mobile in 2013 and has ever since been recognized as one of the best combat games on the platform. Offering you the liberty to control your character and move around pulling off insane skills and magical combos.

Shadow fight 2 has a thrilling storyline combined with other challenging modes to keep you fighting all day long. While the game may look simple and easy, shadowfight 2 is one of the most challenging fighting games which you can download on the mobile platform.

Equipped with different martial arts techniques, you can kick, punch, grab, slice, knack and stump your opponent however you see fit.

3. Marvel Contest of Champions

From its name, Marvel, you’d already get an idea of what this is going to be like. Kabam Games Inc, developed this game in co-operation with marvel of course, and the game became quite a success. Contest of Champions is an online game and it really doesn’t matter because it’s addictive either way. Like Mortal Kombat, marvel’s contest of champion similarly doesn’t allow players the freedom of movement. But in a way, it does allow the player to perform a few movements of their own like jumping, evading and manually throwing punches. Which is quite alright from the nature of the game.

Take control of some of Earth’s mightiest heroes and lead them to Glory. You can swing the Mjlohir at your enemies using Thor, throw your shied at enemies with Captain America, devour your enemies with your claws with Black Panther, and rage upon them with The Incredible Hulk or cast a devasting spell using the master of the mystic arts, Doctor Strange and many others.

In this game you don’t only get to use heroes, you also get to use villains. Contest of champions offers a wide range of story mode, maybe too wide. And a multiplayer feature as well as tons of challenges for you to try and complete.

4. Injustice: Gods Among Us

Best Fighting Mobile Games

Also developed by NetherRealm studios in partnership with Warner Bros, Injustice: Gods Among Us is one of our favorite combat fighting games on the mobile platform for it’s insane packs of famous characters from the DC universe and beyond.

Injustice also offers a storyline to go along with it’s one on one fighting mode. Offering tons of fighters and a shop for direct purchase as well. Get a hold of Batman, Harley Quinn, Superman, The Flash, Wonder Woman, Catwoman, and the infamous Joker.

Injustice Gods Among Us is a 3 on 3 fighting game as well, where you take on 3 heroes to battle and fight to emerge victorious. Perform signature and finishing moves at your opponent and watch as they face the wrath of your heroes. Injustice is probably the best fighting game from NetherRealm studios and still leads the market as the most downloaded game amongst it’s other predecessors.

5. EA Sports UFC

Perhaps the best fighting game developed by EA. But we’ve all come to know EA to be successful for their soccer games. And they sort of suck in other category other than soccer. But we guessed wrong because UFC was not a disappointment.

EA Sports UFC brings the intensity of MMA to your fingertips like never before. HD-quality visuals, intuitive touch controls, and action-packed gameplay create a unique combat experience for novice and veteran fight fans alike.

Being an online game, you can also take on other players worldwide with online multiplayer and kick some ass. Choose from over 70 fighters, train your fighter and lead him to victory. But, with the release of the new UFC Mobile, EA is, of course, going to focus more on the new game, bringing regular content updates and events. So it is even possible that EA takes the game down completely, we’ll have to wait and watch.

6. Real Steel World Robot Boxing

Best Fighting Mobile Games

The 2011 film became a success and made it to the top in box office years ago. The game also took the same route. Reliance developers initially released the game on Microsoft Windows only, leaving out the mobile platform. But after a while, it popped into the Google play store and instantly became amongst the Top 10 most installed fighting games on mobile.

Choose your Robot, train and master it’s fighting moves, take it to the ring and perform special moves, knockout punches and so much more.Challenge other Robots and try to beat the junk out of them. Real steel gives the player full control of their robot in the ring and offering good controls as well.

7. Shadow Fight 3

Best Fighting Mobile Games

After the success of Shadow fight 2, Nekki announced the release of Shadow fight 3 and when it finally arrived, it was as expected. Although it was deemed to be better than it’s predecessor, but to a lot of players out there, the Shadow fight 2 still surpasses Shadow fight 3 in some certain aspects.

But while some may believe that, others also think otherwise. The shadow fight 2 is made and shaped in an all shadow aspect. Meaning all the fighters are shadows. But with the release of shadow fight 3, the developers changed things up a bit and made the fighters appear in human form. While appearing as a Shadow is now a form of special ability in the game.

Your character can only become a Shadow when they want to pull off a certain skill or ability. But other than that, your character is now a human. Which is an impressive upgrade in the game. Making it look more matured, Graphical and addictive. Shadow fight 3 is very similar to its predecessor in terms of controls and Interface, but it’s now an online game and requires a persistent internet connection to run. With the release of Shadow Fight Arena, Nekki is bringing changes which will surely win back the hearts of the fans.

10. Blood & Glory: Legend

This is not to say we saved the best for last, but back in days when developers GLU were in its prime, Blood & Glory: Legend was one of the most downloaded fighting games back then and one of our personal favourites.

The game was released in 2012, and frankly speaking, till today we have not seen a gladiator game on mobile that can compete with it. It is a classic till today. Sadly a high number of players seem to have forgotten about its developers.

With its motion comic storyline, you can journey through the Empire, leaving blood-thirsty bosses in your wake as the all-new animated comic story unfolds! Combined with stunning and award-winning AAA graphics that will give you a bleeding-edge graphics experience so realistic that you’ll duck to avoid the blood splatter.
