In an exciting development for strategy game fans, 2K Games has officially rebranded its mobile title Conquests and Alliances as Civilization: Eras & Allies. The game, which has been tested in certain countries for the previous few months, is set to join the famed Civilization franchise.
2K’s RTS game takes you through time as a legendary leader in Civilization: Eras & Allies
The renamed Civilization: Eras & Allies is currently in the process of being updated, and 2K has assured players that the soft-launch phase will persist as they continue refining and enhancing the gaming experience.
Originally known as Conquests & Alliances – 4X Empire Builder, the game encourages players to journey through history, embodying renowned leaders ranging from Julius Caesar to Sun Tzu. Players control the fate of civilizations in this real-time strategy game by making decisions in governance, combat, and diplomacy.
Civilization: Eras & Allies promises to take players on an immersive journey through various landscapes and the rise and fall of great empires. The game takes a novel approach with time-limited game seasons, each presenting new difficulties and opportunities from ancient civilizations to medieval realms.
A spokesperson for 2K Games stated to IGN, “Civilization: Eras & Allies is a new standalone free-to-play mobile 4X social strategy game, featuring exciting new gameplay mechanics designed with the mobile social strategy gamer in mind.”
To put it simply, the game’s new name does not imply that it is ready for everyone just yet. 2K is still testing things out in a sort of practice phase and hasn’t said when more regions will be able to play it. It’s like they’re fine-tuning the experience before rolling it out to everyone. So, for now, some regions get to enjoy the sneak peek while the rest of us eagerly await our turn.
