- Angry Birds makes a comeback in China with Rovio and Kingsoft Shiyou partnership.
- A special version of the flagship title Angry Birds 2 will start the franchise's releases.
- Game will come pre-installed on Xiaomi 17 Pro and 17 Pro Max smartphones.
Creators of the Angry Birds franchise, Rovio Entertainment, have officially announced that the title is making a grand return to Mainland China. The game will now be available in partnership with Kingsoft Shiyou, the core gaming subsidiary of Kingsoft Corporation Limited, alongside mobile manufacturer Xiaomi.
Angry Birds 2 and Angry Birds Dream Blast will be the first two China releases
First up is a special version of the flagship title, Angry Birds 2. This new take builds on the classic slingshot gameplay that made the franchise iconic, but adds a fresh twist with a 3D engine, more dynamic level designs, and a brand-new magic system.

Following Angry Birds 2, Rovio has also confirmed that Angry Birds Dream Blast will launch at a later date, offering a more casual, bubble-popping puzzle experience for players in the region.
As part of the relaunch, Angry Birds will come pre-installed on the new Xiaomi 17 Pro Max smartphone. That means players from the region can jump straight into the game the moment they turn on their latest Xiaomi phones, so no downloads are needed.
Rovio aims to reconnect with fans and reach a new generation of Angry Birds fans in China
Rovio sees this as more than just a return. The mention that Angry Birds has always been about “simple yet engaging fun“, and this new release gives an entirely new generation in China a chance to experience it firsthand. At the same time, it offers long-time fans a way to relive the original gameplay that turned Angry Birds into a global phenomenon.
“The long‑standing passion and anticipation from Chinese players have always been among our strongest motivations. Through this partnership with Kingsoft Shiyou, we aim to reignite those beloved memories and reintroduce this classic franchise to Chinese fans in a fresh and innovative way” said Alex Pelletier-Normand, the CEO of Rovio.

Beyond this first step, there is potential for more localized content, new events, and additional Angry Birds titles tailored specifically for the Chinese market.
First would be the plethora of new titles we are constantly seeing on our mobile screens. The most recent one being Angry Birds Rush, be it Angry Birds Bounce on Apple Arcade, there are also different genres of games like Angry Birds Block Quest and Angry Birds Kingdom.
