Arida: Backland’s Awakening was one of the best Indie games to hit the market. The game is developed and published by Brazil-based Aoca Games. Now, Arida: Backland’s Awakening, the legendary adventure and survival game set in the Brazilian hinterlands is making its way to mobile with the Android version set to release in June.
However, the iOS version will not release with the Android and it is expected to go live by the end of 2022.
Make tools, survive the hinterlands as a young girl Cicera
First released in August 2019 for PC, Arida: Backland’s is a survival adventure and exploration game set in the hinterlands of Bahia in the 19th Century. The game revolves around a young girl named Cicera who belongs to an area that is drought-hit and devastated. The game will then progress further where Cicera will learn how to survive these harsh times with the help of her grandfather and other villagers.
Cicera will go on to survive the hinterlands by learning how to use tools, she will use tools to make paths, sharpen machetes and solve quests and discover the rich history of the Brazilian hinterlands. The game was instantly popular in the community as it gave players a real sense of the struggles of surviving the Brazilian hinterland in the 19th century.
The graphics in the game match the aesthetics of the 19 century, invoking a feeling of nostalgia in the players while playing in locations that are rarely seen in any games. The total playtime of the game was only 2 hours and was developed by a six-member team initially for PC. It was released for PC and consoles in Portuguese, Russian, Chinese, Spanish, German, and English languages.
Now, the Aoca Games team is releasing an android version of this legendary game to give mobile users a chance to explore the Brazilian hinterlands and be a part of Cicera’s story. The game will be available on Google Play Store on June 15 for $2 and is currently available for pre-registration.
