Bandai Namco has announced that their action RPG title Tales of Asteria is ending service after 9 years and will shut down on May 18, 2023. However, the reason behind the shutdown hasn’t been known yet, and the makers will be running a series of campaigns before the game sees a confirmed end.

In April 2014, Tales of Asteria was released for iOS and Android devices. The game caught popularity soon after thanks to the inclusion of over 200 characters from the Tales series of games, as well as giving an entirely new story from the Namco Tales Studio. The game also includes cooperative battles in which players can team up with guildmates to take on more powerful enemies.
However, on 16th March 2023, the makers made an announcement regarding the shutdown, which albeit unexpected for the fans without citing a reason for the same. The makers thanked the players for supporting them for nine long years and announced the end of the service schedule along with the upcoming events until shutdown.

Along with the campaigns, Bandai Namco Entertainment’s sound label Bandai Namco Game Music will release the game BGM for Tales of Asteria in March. The BGM can be enjoyed throughout all 80 songs, including 21 songs not previously released on CD.
It is sad to see a long-running game like Tales of Asteria has to shut down. While this adventure coming to a close, we have to wait and see if any upcoming game can fill this void.
