Capcom Town is a new website offering a digital museum and playable retro games on browser

Its the time to Retro!

Capcom has recently opened a dedicated website named Capcom Town to mark its 40th anniversary. This interactive platform acts as a festive area for fans, offering them a one-of-a-kind opportunity to dig into the world of retro games playable on a browser as well as enjoy curated pieces in a digital museum.

Enjoy playing the hottest retro games in Capcom Town

Originating in Japan in 1979, Capcom initially established itself as a manufacturer and distributor of electronic game machines. The formation of Capcom Co. Ltd in 1983 marked a significant milestone, as the company quickly gained recognition for being a notable name in the video game market, which they expanded across platforms in the coming years.

2023 marks its 40th anniversary, and to celebrate, the website is now live. To pick up a location, you can do that by simply clicking or tapping on the buildings which are indicated by a pin with the name below. Even the areas without pins hold numerous delightful surprises where you might stumble upon a plethora of hidden Capcom characters and features.

The first interesting feature is the Museum, where Capcom has meticulously curated an impressive collection of approximately 500 items, encompassing original drawings and development materials sourced from their illustrious game catalog. Players can also play some interesting retro games to relieve the nostalgia, such as the Street Fighter series with Rockman, SectionZ, etc.

Apart from the games, there is some interesting info on offer, especially with the CEO and CEO Office pinups put in. You can read into their biography as well as play the pick of their games under the memorable games category.
