Clash of Clans August 2021 balance changes to buff Dragon, Valkyrie, and X-Bow

The newest update will be aiming to fix some troop and defense balance issues in the game.

The popular real-time strategy game Clash Of Clans is back with balance changes for August 2021 which will be aiming to fix some troop and defense balance issues in the game to ensure a better in-game experience for the players. Expected to go live after the upcoming server maintenance, the changes are as listed in this article.

HP buff for Dragon level 4

Even though the fire breathing monsters have lost their former status and grandeur as a primary troop in the level 10 and onwards Town Halls, Dragons are still a very much essential troop for the transitioning Town Halls from the middle to higher ranks of the game, that is, around Town Halls 8 and 9, and even level 10 to an extent. Keeping in mind those players, the level 4 dragon will now have 2700 hit points contrary to the present 2600 hit points.

HP buff for Valkyrie level 9

A dark elixir semi tank troop with moderately high damage, this ax-swinging red-headed warrior is more often than not neglected in higher Town Halls. Thus, to make the Valkyrie more appealing and used, the developers are buffing the hit points of the Valkyrie from the current 1850 to 1900.

Seeking Air Mine speed increase

Probably the deadliest trap for any singular aerial troop in the game, the Seeking Air Mine often fails to catch up with its target owing to its relatively slow speed of 2.5 tiles. Its particular nemesis, the Battle Blimp also has a speed of 2.5 tiles per second, and thus the trap just trails after it and by the time it hits, the damage is already done. To counter this issue, the speed of the Seeking Air Mine will be increased to 3.5 tiles per second in the Clash of Clans balance changes for August 2021 to make up for the problem.

Increase in the range of the X-bow

A super versatile defense building capable of chipping away at high hitpoint troops until they die, the X-bow is a favorite for many. But keeping in mind the recent meta of attacks heavily revolving around aerial troops, the X-bow will be getting a range buff from 11 tiles to 11.5 tiles while in Air and Ground Mode. But given that the game cannot display stats in decimal numbers, the range will still read as 11 tiles but will be effective in the range of 11.5 tiles.

Also, it should be noted that as the balances will involve changes in certain game mechanics, all battle replays prior to the maintenance will be wiped and will no longer be available, as stated by the developers.

As the changes are all aimed towards player welfare and satisfaction, it can be expected that there may or may not be changes in the existing meta following the balance changes. Thus, it can prompt the players to experiment with new troop combinations and try out their hand in utilizing the changes for their own good, which will indicate that it was a successful patch.
