Merge Tactics is kicking off its October 2025 update in Clash Royale with the first-ever seasonal reset, which was confirmed to us beforehand as the “Seasonal Starsteel reset“.
As part of this, new troops joining the pool, new traits and modifiers, and two brand-new Rulers across October and November. You’ll also find new skins, improved gameplay polish, and balance changes as well. Let’s break it all down.
Clash Royale Merge Tactics October 2025 update and Season details
Merge Tactics Seasonal Reset
Merge Tactics is now officially a seasonal mode in Clash Royale. With this, your Starsteel progress (trophies) and Merge Road will reset every month. Seasons will start the week before each new Clash Royale season, bringing new rewards, Rulers, modifiers, skins, and more.
Each season, you’ll also earn a Merge Tactics badge showing the highest league you reached, so you can display your dedication. The first reset begins September 29th, so be ready to climb again.
New Rulers: Goblin Queen and Elixir Loong
So two new rulers will be debuting, while October gets only one. The makers bring back the Goblin Queen, who previously debuted in the game mode last year. This time, not with her Journey and Baby Goblins, but as a board Ruler with the Greener Grin ability that gives a 40% chance of spawning a Goblin.

Elixir Loong is a fresh addition here. The look is kind of similar to the dragon of Spirit Empress, but with a golden tone. His passive skill Endless Spring grants +1 Elixir per turn and +1 team size.
New Troops

Seven new troops are now available in the Merge Tactics, split into three elixir categories.

| Musketeer | 3 | Noble, Blaster | Tanky gunner who pushes back 3 enemies after a few hits |
| Baby Dragon | 4 | Fire, Blaster | Burp’s fireballs deal splash damage in a wide area |
| Electro Wizard | 4 | Electric, Mage | Shoots lightning, stunning multiple enemies every few seconds. |
| Witch | 4 | Undead, Avenger | Summons Skeletons with 50% of her stats every few seconds |
New Traits
The Traits have also been updated, which sees some new additions.

New Modifiers

The long list of Modifiers in Merge Tactics also includes some new additions. Modifiers will now rotate every season, with new ones added to battles at different leagues.

| Silver III | Echo Bench | Each round, gain a 1-Star copy of the right-most Bench troop |
| Gold I | Chaos Chaos* | Merges transform troop into random +1 Elixir troop (once/round) |
| Gold I | Master Arena* | Troops gain +100% HP and +50% dmg if unmoved between rounds |
| Gold II | Promotion | Right-most Bench troop transforms into a random +1 Elixir troop each round |
| Gold II | Trait Dummy | Start with a Dummy with 2 random Traits |
| Gold III | Ultimate Origins* | Start with a Dummy with Undead + Noble Traits |
| Gold III | Ascension | End of Round 3: right-most Bench troop becomes 3-Star powerhouse |
| Diamond | Coaching* | Benched troops gain +100% dmg & +50% HP next round. |
| Diamond | Monster Drink* | Lowest HP troop grows with +200% HP & +100% dmg at combat start. |
Note: * indicates a new modifier; the rest are already existing in the game.
New modifiers are coming in November as well, such as Swift Tile, One Punch, Mystery Shop, and Devil Snap.
Troop and Trait Changes
There have been changes made to troops and their traits, while some traits have even had their original working cases changed.

Plenty of new skins also join the rotation this season. Featured looks include Astral Empress, Malevolent Queen, Royale King, and Aqua Loong, which is arriving with November’s release with the new Ruler. These come with custom confetti VFX, too.
