- Clash Royale is bringing multiple new additions for the October 2025 update.
- Lucky Drops replaced with Lucky Chests offering guaranteed seasonal themed rewards.
- Champions now cycle like normal cards and gets rid of the 3-card cycle.
Clash Royale is rolling out its October 2025 update, and this one has a lot in store. We have two new Evolutions for Season 76, a Champion system rework, and Lucky Chests are a new introduction. On top of that, there are changes to rewards too, so here’s everything you need to know.
Clash Royale October 2025 update: All the details explained
New Rewarding system: Lucky Chests
In what is the big feature in this update, Lucky Drops are gone and have been replaced with Lucky Chests, which give you better rewards and a more reliable system. This is kind of a comeback for the Chests, which were taken out in the March update, but in a different way, of course.
There are three types: Common Lucky Chests with cards and gold (3 spins), Magic Lucky Chests with cards, gold, items, and cosmetics (4 spins), and Seasonal Lucky Chests that change every season, which come with two types based on the theme.
For October, you’ll see the Haunted Lucky Chest with Skeleton Army and Royal Ghost Evolution shards plus cosmetics, and the Phantom Lucky Chest with Royal Ghost Evolution shards and themed rewards. Seasonal chests now also guarantee rewards the more you open them, so your progress feels rewarding.
Champion Cycle Rework
Champions are now easier to play with. Instead of waiting on the old 3-card cycle, they cycle like any other card. Only the most recent Champion you place has an active ability, shown with a crown icon above them.
Each time you play a Champion, ability cooldowns reset, and the Skeleton King’s soul bar also refreshes if you drop him again. The Mirror card now works with Champions, too; however, you can still only have one Champion in a deck.
Two New Evolutions: Royal Ghost and Skeleton Army
The October season is giving you not one but two Evolutions. The first is the Royal Ghost Evolution, where he spawns with two “Souldiers” that deal damage as soon as they appear and protect him while he materializes. You can unlock this from the Shop starting October 17 at 9 AM UTC.
The second is the Skeleton Army Evolution, where General Gerry leads the Skellies, making them invisible and indestructible as long as he’s alive. But once he falls, they all go down with him. More details will be shared in the Season update news.
Daily Rewards and Game Mode Switcher
Daily rewards are now the same for everyone. After testing new Battle Rewards, we will now get 4 Magic Lucky Chests each day, which is a nice boost.
In addition, in the game mode switcher, you’ll now see a New Event! label whenever fresh content is live, and Training Camp plus tournaments can be accessed right from the same menu.
