Clash Royale Trade Tokens might bid goodbye as game support AI hints at trading’s “eventual removal”

Another feature moving out?

Story Highlights
  • Clash Royale support AI hinted that the card trading feature will eventually be removed.
  • No official confirmation has arrived, and there can be chances the AI give wrong info.

Supercell’s Clash Royale might have scared players by doing something that really might be trouble for the game, if it came true. Players are once again in panic mode after a recent in-game support chat suggested that the Trade Tokens and the card trading system in Clash Royale may eventually be removed from the game.

Progression may become significantly harder in Clash Royale without the trading system

In the conversation, the AI support clearly stated that once players finish using their remaining Trade Tokens, trading with clanmates and the in-game Trader will come to an end. While this has not been officially confirmed by Supercell, the response was enough to send the community into full meltdown.

For free-to-play players, this is not a small change. Trading has always been one of the most important tools in the game for controlling your own progression. Losing that system means progression becomes slower, more random, and far more dependent on shop offers and lucky pulls.

Ever since its debut in 2018, trading has been a solid hand. Trade Tokens allows you to exchange cards with your clanmates or with the in-game Trader. Each token works only for its own rarity, meaning a Common token trades Commons, and so on.

Still, I believe there is no reason to worry. The game recently gave out Trade Tokens in the December “New Year, New Fire” event, and although the numbers were few, I’m pretty sure if they were “eventually” to be removed, they might have been phased out without notice.

Also, AI chatbots aren’t really reliable, and hence, there is no reason to panic. We’ll save that if, and only if, Clash Royale decides to make this a reality. But again, if trading truly disappears in the future, Clash Royale would instantly become far more punishing for free-to-play players and remove a very important feature.
