The Katana is a brand new addition to the game armory and was recently added in COD Mobile during the sixth season of the game – “The Heat”.The Katana is a lethal one-hit-kill Operator Skill that slices and dices the opposition. When activated the player will enter a third-person perspective to get a complete field of view. Use the added vision to attack enemies from all angles. About Katana Weapon in COD Mobile
The Katana is a lethal melee weapon that can kill down opponents in a single hit. Being a close-range operator, you’ll have to be pretty close to your enemy’s location to get the most out of the Katana sword. Here are the complete stats of the weapon:
- Damage: 200
- Fire Rate: 10
- Accuracy: 70
- Mobility: 90
- Range: 10
- Control: 70
Use environment pieces, distractions by other teammates, or tactical equipment to close the distance, before you strike. The Katana has a small lunge distance, so make sure you are within striking distance before you attack.
Unlock the Katana weapon in Sharpened Skills event in COD Mobile
Players will be able to unlock the Katana in Season 6 by completing the new Sharpened Skills featured challenge ending on August 29th, 2021. Just like every other featured challenge, players can earn a bunch of other rewards as well. This featured challenge comprises of multiple steps needed to be completed to grind and unlock the Katana weapon for your loadout. Rewards will be obtained at certain milestones set in this event. completion of each task will give you certain Milestone points to progress and unlock the weapon.
- Play 5 Multiplayer matches: 10 Milestone points
- Play 10 Multiplayer matches: 10 Milestone points
- Kill 5 enemies with Melee weapons: 15 Milestone points
- Kill 10 enemies with Melee weapons: 25 Milestone points
- Use the Shadow Blade operator skill 5 times in Multiplayer matches: 15 Milestone points
- Kill 20 enemies with the Shadow Blade operator skill in Multiplayer matches: 20 Milestone points
- Deal 6000 damage in Multiplayer matches: 20 Milestone points
- Earn the Backstabber Medal 5 times in Multiplayer matches: 15 Milestone points
- Kill 20 enemies with the Lightweight perk and Dead Silence perk equipped: 10 Milestone points
- Win 5 Multiplayer matches: 20 Milestone points
However, do remember that not all the tasks need to be completed to unlock Katana. To unlock Katana, you need to complete 140 milestone points in total. So, you can arrange and sort your tasks accordingly to complete the event in the shortest time possible for you. Here are the rewards that you will get at the specific milestones:
- 60 Milestone points: 150 Credits
- 70 Milestone points: 20 Epic Weapon XP Cards
- 80 Milestone points: HS2126-Guarana
- 120 Milestone points: Backpack 1-Mosaic
- 140 Milestone points: Katana
How to equip Katana in your loadout in COD Mobile
Once the Katana has been unlocked, it’s time to test it out, and to do so, players have to equip it. Melee weapons can be equipped in both Multiplayer and Battle Royale mode. First, let’s equip it in multiplayer.
- From the main menu of the game, head over to Loadout, the option at the bottom.
- Once that is done, your loadout will be displayed. Simply head to the secondary weapons section and click on Melee. The Katana will be displayed after the knives and then, you can click on it and then Quick Equip.
To equip it in Battle Royale, go back to the Menu and click on the Battle Royale option. Head over to loadout again at the bottom of the page and you’ll see the melee option next to the class section. Simply swipe until you see the Katana and equip it.

I got the katana but can’t use it in BR I can equip it but not attack with it?
Yes you can. Just like by default you have the melee in your hands while running, you can have the katana. Just equip the Katana in the BR weapons menu!
I got the katana too but for br not multiplayer, I thought it was for both.
I got the katana but can’t unlock it or even find where it is and have completely finished the challenge

I have checked in melee section and still no katana. It’s strange the game never showed the little animated thing it does when you complete a challenge. If I go to sharpen skills challenge it shows it completed? I’m at a loss here. Do you think it unlocks automatically after the time left until the challenge is over has expired?

Melee > base melee> gunsmith > select blueprint
This 100% you have to select the basic knife and then select gunsmith and bring up the custom blueprint…. I don’t know why it doesn’t have its own tab like the ax, bat, or sickle… The ice pick is in the same place as the katana
