Activision’s big-hit battle royale Call of Duty Warzone has seen incredible success, with the game getting over 75 million players, since its release in March 2020. Back in September 2020, a job listing hinted that COD Warzone is coming to mobile devices. Moreover, recently Activision announced that they’re currently hiring for a new mobile FPS game which is in the making. And now, if some leaks are to be believed, then one of the most popular locations in the franchise – Verdansk map may come to the battle royale mode in COD Mobile.
Recent Survey by Activision suggests Verdansk map release in COD mobile
Recently, one of the well-known COD leakers ModernWarzone shared a survey asked by Activision. In the survey, the devs asked players directly if they are interested in some new battle royale maps coming to the game. Among the options, they specifically mentioned Warzone’s Verdansk map and Black Ops 4’s Blackout map.
Although, this isn’t a piece of solid evidence that Verdansk is coming to the game. However, it seems like Activision is at least considering it, which does make sense and sounds exciting. Recent leaks related to the PC title have claimed that Verdansk is getting blown up and possibly removed from the game in April 2021. So, it is possible that Activision would want the map to live on in some way if it’s removed in Warzone.
Conclusion
From the past few seasons, Call of Duty Mobile does get content from Modern Warfare and Warzone. Recently, Activision has hinted with the assault rifle AS VAL coming to the game in the near future. Verdansk map has been available in Warzone since it released. Just a survey form by Activision is far from confirmation that Verdansk is coming into the game. However, if Verdansk does come, then some serious changes would have to be made to the map. Maybe we will end up getting a cutdown version or it might be a detailed one as well. We’ll find out soon enough.
