Date A Live: Spirit Pledge HD will shut down on May 20, 2023

The HD version didn't even last a year

The actionsimulation game Date A Live: Spirit Pledge HD will officially shut down on May 20, 2023. The game from the Hong Kong-based developer Moonwalk Interactive launched the Spirit Pledge HD remake last June 2022, and before closing in on a year, the game has been called off.

The reason for Date A Live: Spirit Pledge HD shutdown hasn’t been disclosed

The game is based on the popular light novel series Date A Live. It takes a different approach to the side-scrolling action by incorporating various action and simulation elements. Players can control or interact with various Spirits in battle and story stages in this game, forming strong bonds and connections with them.

Spirit Pledge was released for mobile devices in July 2020, and nearly two years later, in June 2022, it was remade as an HD version and was renamed to Date A Live: Spirit Pledge HD. It launched with overhauled systems and new player profiles which the players enjoyed and gave good feedback as well.

However, the makers have decided to put an end to this chapter, with the game officially shutting down on May 20, 2023. The game has already been removed from all stores, and cannot be downloaded anymore. The existing users can continue playing until the game shut down, and the player info and data will be cleared off.

The reason behind shut down hasn’t been mentioned. Fans of the game will clearly miss playing this, and hopefully, the void will be filled by other games soon.

If they are going to shut the game down at least give the fans a reason why.
