An independent studio under the umbrella of KRAFTON, named RisingWings, has introduced the November 2023 update for the widely-played real-time PvP tower defense mobile game known as Defense Derby.
Exciting heroes join the battle in the Defense Derby November 2023 update
In the update, three new heroes are introduced. The first hero is Rake, who belongs to the beast faction and possesses magical abilities. Rake enhances the damage dealt by all allied units against common monsters. She can also use her special skill, Chain of Hatred, to immobilize two enemy units in battle, preventing them from deploying or attacking for a set period. Finesse, a hero from the spirit faction, will become available to players in December, and Lana, a hero from the human faction, will be accessible in January 2024.
The Great Voyage season brings a new unit known as the Pirate Monkey. This unit, a physical-type member of the beast faction, has the unique ability called Negotiate, which boosts its attack power for every Derby Chip it possesses. Players can acquire the Pirate Monkey through various sources like the updated Shop of Blessings, Lucky Draw, Featured Summon, and Step Up Pack. To celebrate the arrival of the Pirate Monkey, a special Derby Brawl called the Pirate Monkey Mirror Match is now open.
In this mode, all players start with the same beast faction deck featuring the Pirate Monkey. This mode will be available for play until November 14. In the upcoming months of December and January, several new units are planned for release, including the spirit faction unit Moon Night, the human faction unit Blacksmith, and the beast faction unit Electric Monk.
Special reward packages mark 100 days of Defense Derby
In celebration of Defense Derby’s 100-day Anniversary, they have prepared a variety of enjoyable activities. All players will be receiving three new legendary heroes as rewards. Rake will become available in November, while Finesse and Lana can be utilized in December and January, respectively.
Furthermore, to mark the 100-day milestone, a reward package comprising 1,000 Gems, 1,000 Cubics, and a Cannon Master Emote will be granted. Various in-game events are also in progress. Until November 12, players can obtain 150 Crystals and 500 Gems through the Hot Time Event by logging in at specific times. The 100-day Anniversary Check-in and Mission Event, running until December 6, provides rewards such as a Legendary Unit Summon and a complete set of Scarlet Castle Skins.
In the meantime, Defense Derby has recently hinted at an extensive update in their Dev Notes. This includes the introduction of a new PvE mode tentatively named Crusade Mode, a monster dungeon PvE mode tentatively named Single Raid Mode, the new themed Mulligan System, and a new mission system tentatively named Bounty Hunter. These updates are aimed at bringing the inherent enjoyment of the tower defense genre to players.
