According to the latest development in the industry, Dragonfly has signed a contract with game developer Ntrace for an MMORPG project that will see them develop and market the game together. A significant portion of the game has already been developed and the developers are planning to release it globally in H2 2024.
The new project will help both parties to extend their reach in the market
The new project presents a great opportunity for Dragonfly to enter the MMORPG category and for Ntrace who has limited but solid experience in the MMORPG field to solidify their presence. Dragonfly has been subject to prejudice of handling only FPS genre of games in the past with the likes of Special Forces and Karma being the popular ones.
With this new project, they will be able to shake off this image and enter a new market which in this case would be the MMORPG market. This will not only allow them the opportunity to diversify their portfolio but will also help them reach out to new opportunities and fans. On the other hand, Ntrance already has an MMORPG titled DK Mobile to their name. This gives them limited but reliable experience in working on an MMORPG project.
Dragonfly already has various game development experiences while Ntrance which has already developed a similar game in a specific genre. The contract signed between them looks promising as both the parties have potential to contribute to the area where the other lacks. MMORPG games have been finding a place in the industry quite well recently and fans have been enjoying the latest releases in the genre, hence given the scope of the game it looks very bright.
“At the time of starting a new challenge in the MMORPG genre, it is reassuring to be with Entrance, who has rich experience in the field. We hope to lay the groundwork for it.” quoted an official from Dragonfly. Given the success of the previous title DK Mobile: Genesis, it is safe to say that the new project will definitely be a promising one.
