E3 2021 to have a mobile app to let the fans access the online portal easily

Online portal will be accessible for fans from June 12th!

It may be well over a year since the coronavirus pandemic took a foothold across the globe. Some countries are still reeling from the after-effects of the pandemic. Reopening of events and outdoor activities in most countries has been a slow affair. The annual Electronic Entertainment Expo event, also short for E3, is the latest to announce that it will be hosted in an entirely virtual affair for 2021. The E3 2021 is set to be its first-ever fully online affair and the E3 app will be available for smartphone devices. It will be the key between connecting the developers and the audiences in this annual spectacle.


E3 Online Portal

In an attempt to make things more accessible and interactive for fans during the COVID-19 pandemic, a mobile application has been created for E3 2021. It is created by a collaboration of Game Cloud Network, HCL Technologies, and Revyrie Inc. As per the announcement, access to the public will be able from June 12th, 2021, which is also the first day of the event. Journalists and other media houses will have access to the portal 5 days in advance, starting from June 7th.

The portal is not only set to allow users and other fans to view the events, games and other teasers live, but also aims to replicate the actual real-life experience of the expo in the most interactive manner possible. Some of the promised features include:

  • Exhibitor boots: It will act as the main hub for all E3 related announcements.
  • Lounges: A common gathering spot for everyone attending the E3 event.
  • Forums: Online discussion boards for fans to discuss the events of the proceeds as they happen on the go.
  • Leaderboards: It allows fans to interact with each other via gamified show elements.
  • Profile creation: It allows users to create their own custom avatar with a variety of options.

With this year’s E3 set to take place entirely online, there are several exciting titles lined up for both PC and mobile gamers. So, there’s definitely something for everyone to be excited about!
