KONAMI’s eFootball 2024 has brought a new v3.4.0 update to the game, and this is perhaps one of the best updates dropped in recent times. With Season 5 ‘Dominate the Game’ still in the game, I am excited to share this news since the game is undergoing amazing changes with new features being added, such as Position Proficiency ability for players, formation customization and more. Let me jump right in and explain in detail the talking points of the version 3.4.0 update in eFootball 2024.
eFootball 2024 version 3.4.0 update overview
eFootball x Blue Lock collab
This made me chuckle a bit, honestly, since I am a huge fan of the franchise, both manga and anime. With this collab, we are going to get to see real-life players with alter-egos, which will be Blue Lock characters. If you are a fan of popular names in the manga/anime, say Isagi, Reo, Bachira, Nagi, to name a few, you will get their themed cards as Epic/Highlight players.

Do note that there will be an Inzaghi x Isagi epic player card pack coming too. Not only players being available but also there are amazing other rewards as well. Tour Events will be presenting you with free Chance Deals to pull those shiny cards, which include Coins, EXP Points, and GP. It is an amazing campaign, and one to watch out for surely.
Formation Customization – Edit Position
This is a huge update for players, so bid goodbye to custom formations. With the v3.4.0 update, eFootball 2024 mobile players will now have the chance to create the formation of their liking. They can drag and place players however they want, and this will come with a restriction though, of having a position mapping where you can’t exceed the limits.
This feature is widely used whenever I play eFootball on a console, and now even mobile players can go ahead. I see they might be doing so to enable crossplay, which was their agenda with eFootball franchise but two years have passed and there is no sign of it. Anyway, now we might be getting to face some fun formations, 9-0-1 while defending a lead would be a great example!
Position Proficiency
Take out an old feature, and introduce it as a new one. Well, a KONAMI special. That’s right. Position Booster which was in the PES series of games is brought back in version 3.4.0 as Position Training Program to learn Position Proficiency in eFootball 2024. This time, however, you will get the choice to boost the position of your choice.
Add Friends
Well, the Friend Match Mode just got simpler! I did not get the point of removing the friends’ option from the game in the first place, but maybe our cries were heard in the KONAMI HQ. Well, they have brought it back, and with this, we can easily sort our friends and it is also easy to play friend matches with them with the options available.
Gameplay Changes
This is something we have been longing for, and there are some obvious changes yes, but what is more interesting is that a few changes are something that will affect your gameplay as well as your players. In terms of basic gameplay fixes, match-up, stuck-on-one-player issues (switching), and heavy touches during defense, to name a few have been fixed, which gave us some irritating moments while playing.
Changes to Classic No. 10 playing style
Now, coming to an interesting one. Classic No. 10 is a midfielder playing style many of the players loathed, no doubt. Be it Attacking Midfielders (AMF) or Second Strikers (SS) having that playing style, nobody batted an eye even though he had good stats. Well, that is going to change now. Funnily enough to
Players with the Classic No. 10 playing style will position themselves closer to the opponent’s goal, looking for scoring opportunities and making runs behind the defense. They won’t waste stamina by constantly running back to defend, a huge plus. In addition, they won’t be used in the CMF position anymore because they’re more focused on attacking and creating chances.
Other Updates
Speaking about other updates, various visual elements, and data that have been refreshed or added. This includes player photos, graphics, information, club emblems, team strips, boots, balls, and corner flags, as well as enhancements in cinematics, animations, and commentary. There are also now additional Daily Game Lap rewards such as Jack Wishere Arsenal Epic card, so if you were closing in on finishing the 30 laps, you have more work to do!
Furthermore, the team compositions for the upcoming season have been updated for Brasileirao Assai, Brasileirao Betano Serie B, and USL Championship leagues. These updates ensure that the game reflects the current state of these leagues. Also, some more celebrations have been added, such as Bellingham and Rashford getting their trademark ones!
