eFootball 2026 is bringing the v5.3.1 update: What to expect and what’s coming

eFootball 2026 is preparing to roll out the v5.3.1 update on March 5, 2026. While KONAMI has not revealed the official patch notes yet, monthly updates that we have received suggest that this update could bring new manager content, Link-Up playstyle additions, and fresh player packs. Here’s a look at what we can reasonably expect once the update arrives.

eFootball 2026 v5.3.1 update overview

A new Manager might arrive

Recent updates have focused heavily on introducing new managers with unique Link-Up Playstyle, and this trend could continue with v5.3.1. The month is over, and we always have new managers popping up every month. We might get a new style or maybe a repeat.

Epic and Show Time player packs

Another common feature of major updates is the release of large player selection packs, sometimes containing up to 200 players. This trend wasn’t followed last month; however, we only got two Show Time picks in a 100-player pack featuring Salah and Van Dijk. This time, they might bring back the Epics as well.

Refresh of Nominating Contract packs and others

POTW will be a regular this time, and we’ll be getting a new XI of players from the league performers. Also, the Nominating Contract is getting a refresh, so hopefully, we get some good content there, with stronger players that are usable.

Possible Gameplay Adjustments

The v5.3.1 update may also include gameplay tuning and engine adjustments, something that often accompanies mid-season patches.

According to observations shared by popular eFootball creator Amadeusz, recent engine testing suggests that the game may be moving toward a more balanced interaction between player models and movement speed.

In earlier versions of the engine, taller players with longer legs sometimes had a slight advantage in initial acceleration during off-the-ball movement. However, testing of the newer engine build indicates that player height and model size may no longer affect off-the-ball acceleration or movement speed.

This means smaller players, such as agile dribblers and quick attackers, could benefit significantly from the adjustment. Previously, even extremely fast players could feel slower compared to taller athletes simply due to animation differences.
