Fortnite has collaborated with Marvel on many occasions; according to reports, another collaboration is on the way. Epic Games and Marvel have created 47 skins in collaboration. The popular Marvel villain Thanos was included in the game during the release of Avengers: Infinity War. Many other popular heroes like Iron Man, Groot, and She-Hulk have been a part of the game on several occasions.
Most recently, Spider-Gwen was added to the battle royale game in Chapter 3 Season 4. Currently, a new section in the Item Store is hinting toward the introduction of another Marvel hero. Epic Games has added a new section in the Fortnite shop with the title X-23.
For starters, X-23 is the codename of Laura Kinney. In the comics, X-23 is a female clone created by scientists, using the genetic material of Wolverine. The character featured in the 2017 hit movie Logan. The leaks largely hint at the addition of the mutant character X-23 skin in Fortnite from Marvel Comics.
According to the leaks, X-23 from Marvel might be the next skin added to the game
According to popular Fortnite data miner HYPEX, the X-23 section in the in-game shop suggests of an in-game skin featuring the mutant superhero will be added to the game. A fan of the game Justin Neagle tweeted a list of different Marvel characters who might be soon introduced in the game.
Spider-Gwen is also part of the list and she was added to Fortnite most recently. However, none of the other characters have been confirmed officially so they are all rumored as of now. Shiina, another popular Fortnite data miner has also tweeted about the addition of the X-23 section. She also believes that this is a sign of a “possible upcoming collab”.
iFireMonkey, another popular Fortnite leaker has tweeted a long list of upcoming items in the Fortnite shop. X-23 is featured prominently in this list. Hopefully, in the coming days, we will get an official confirmation from the Fortnite developers about the collaboration. Till then fingers crossed.
