Drums rolls and music, please! The annual GamingonPhone Awards is back again for another exciting edition this 2024, to recognize the best in the mobile games industry. Like last year, we have witnessed some blockbuster mobile game releases with new faces emerging in the ever-growing industry. Honoring these incredible talents is a must, and with the 4th edition of the GamingonPhone Awards, we’re all set to shine a spotlight on the industry stars. And guess what? Nominations are officially open now!
The annual award show hosted by GamingonPhone serves as a testament to the collective passion and dedication exhibited by the entire industry to captivate and entertain audiences. This curated event, shaped by our team and the community, celebrates the industry’s ongoing commitment to excellence.
On this grand occasion, we are also unveiling our brand-new logo, a symbol of the gold standard we aim to set within the industry. With both our B2C and B2B wings expanding, this logo represents our vision for growth and excellence.
What’s new in the 2024 edition of GamingonPhone Awards
Over the past three years, we’ve consistently followed a process of selecting the best in the industry, involving both our team and the community. While this approach has successfully recognized outstanding talent, we’ve decided to switch things up this year and introduce more industry involvement in the selection process.
So this year, we at GamingonPhone are introducing a new concept by forming a Jury Panel to improve the selection process in our Awards Ceremony. The jury will play a crucial role in maintaining the prestige of the awards and ensuring they reflect the very best the mobile gaming industry has to offer.
Alongside this announcement, we are also thrilled to share that we are coming up with two distinct types. While we’ve previously focused on B2C (business-to-consumer), this time we’re stepping up by introducing B2B (business-to-business) awards as well, bringing together the best of both worlds.
The Process of GamingonPhone Awards 2024
This year’s awards will be conducted in four stages.
Stage 1: Submission (October 7 – October 31)
Fill out the simple form to submit your company for consideration.
Stage 2: Shortlisting (November 1 – November 5)
The GamingonPhone team will create a shortlist from the submissions, which will then be voted on by industry members.
Stage 3: Voting (November 5 – November 30)
Following the revised approach introduced in 2023, the shortlist will be voted on by all members of the games industry. The voting breakdown will have the Jury having a lion’s share of 50%, the Public having 30%, and the GamingonPhone team voting the remaining 20%.
Stage 4: Virtual Awards Announcement (December 4, 2024)
After the completion of the three lengthy stages, join us for the virtual announcement of the award winners on the 4th of December, 2024.
GamingonPhone Awards 2024 Categories
This year we have a total of 30 categories divided into two types where we have added many new entries to spice things up. Based on the number of nominations, we’ll shortlist the finalists and the winners will be chosen after the voting process by the Jury, the Public, and the GamingonPhone editorial team.
Note: For the selection criteria, all the game nominees must be launched before the submission deadline, which is October 31st, 2024. So when we mention ‘2024’, it will automatically mean the timeline of January 2024 to October 2024.
B2C Categories
- Game Of The Year: Best mobile game of the year launched in 2024.
- On-going Game Of The Year: Recognizes the best game that has been receiving continuous love and updates from the developer team, making the gameplay experience better than ever. The launch year does not matter.
- Indie Game Of The Year: GOTY, but for indie mobile games only! Only the 2024 launch applies.
- Premium Game Of The Year: Launched in this calendar year, we are here to find the best premium mobile game.
- Innovative Game Of The Year: Every year we get a lot of innovative games that sometimes go unnoticed! Not anymore, but the launch year needs to be 2024.
- Mobile Game Community Of The Year: Mobile games give birth to amazing communities! And how about we find the best one? The game launch year does not matter.
- Apple Arcade Game Of The Year: Apple’s own mobile game subscription service is adding a lot of amazing games and in this category, we’ll recognize the best one, launched in 2024 of course.
- Netflix Game Of The Year: Netflix is slowly making its name in the games service, and it’s time to look at its best one. The 2024 launch criteria are a must.
- Visual Spectacle Of The Year: Technology is evolving and with that, the gameplay visuals are almost becoming console quality. In this category, we’ll award the best-looking mobile game (considering the performance) that was launched in 2024.
- Mobile Game Adaptation Of The Year: Video games to other forms of entertainment and vice versa is a common phenomenon now. And in this category, we’ll award the most iconic mobile game adaptation that has happened in 2024.
- Most Anticipated Game Of The Year: Upcoming games are a major part of the community hype. And in this category, we’ll recognize the game for which the mobile games community is most hyped.
- Players’ Choice Game Of The Year: Dear players, you are the kingmaker as you get a chance to vote for the winner! This is our 100% publicly voted award. Must be launched in 2024 only.
- Mobile Game Trailer Of The Year: Visual spectacles should be rewarded too! We will recognize the Best Mobile Game Trailer that created noise in the community this year for good reasons. Game launch is not necessary.
- Best Voice Acting in Mobile Game: Honoring the most outstanding voice acting performance in a mobile game, where actors bring characters to life with their voiceovers. Should be released this year.
- Mobile Game Update Of The Year: Acknowledging the best update that arrived this 2024 for a mobile game that has significantly improved the game’s content.
- Mobile Esports Game Of The Year: Esports play a major role in many long-running multiplayer games. And it’s time we recognize the most impactful mobile esports game for 2024.
- Mobile Esports Team Of The Year: An award to the most impactful mobile esports team for 2024.
- Mobile Esports Player Of The Year: An award to the best performing mobile esports player for 2024.
- Mobile Game Video Creator Of The Year: This award celebrates the top mobile game content creator who has delivered quality videos related to mobile games this year.

- Mobile Game Publisher Of The Year: In addition to the developers, we will also acknowledge the best in mobile game publishing.
- Best IP Crossover Of The Year: When two minds combine, we always get something bigger as a reward! Celebrating the innovative and memorable collaboration that happened in 2024.
- Advertising & UA Service Provider Of The Year: Awarding the best service provider in user acquisition and advertising, helping mobile games grow and reach new heights in 2024.
- Mobile Analytics Tool Of The Year: Award for the analytics tool that has helped mobile game developers and publishers understand and improve their game performance in 2024.
- Service Provider Of The Year: Acknowledging the best overall service provider in the mobile gaming industry this year.
- Alternate App Store Of The Year: Highlighting the best alternative (of Google Play and Apple App Store) that is present to the mainstream app stores in 2024.
- Best QA & Localization Service Provider: This award recognizes the best provider of Quality Assurance and Localization services in the mobile gaming industry this year.
- Best PR / Marketing Team: You need to reward the masterminds that push the game’s performance beyond its limits! Recognizing the most effective PR or marketing team of the year.
- Mobile Esports Production Partner Of The Year: Honoring the most outstanding production partner in the mobile esports space for 2024 who helped in making the esports tournaments a success!
- Leader in Climate Action and Social Innovation: Celebrating a mobile games company that has demonstrated leadership this year in climate action or social innovation to drive a change for good!
GamingonPhone Awards 2024 Nominations are open now!
Nominations can be submitted by studios, publishers, or individuals. Each nomination should include a short description (100-200 words) explaining why the game or service deserves the award. It’s also a good idea to include supporting materials like trailers, screenshots, and reviews to help the jury members make informed decisions.
