Genshin Impact crosses $3 billion in revenue worldwide on mobile devices

Genshin Impact earns more revenue from China than any other country!

Genshin Impact has had a huge impact on the gaming industry since its launch. No matter which part of the world, Genshin Impact is one of the most loved and played games. The game was the first runner-up for the PlayStation Game Music Award and won the Best Mobile Game Award at The Game Awards (TGA) 2021. A new report by an analytics group called, Sensor Tower revealed that miHoYo’s Genshin Impact has crossed the $3 billion revenue mark across the world on both Google Play Store and App Store.

Genshin Impact joins the frontrunners, Honor of Kings and PUBG Mobile

Genshin Impact has been extremely successful from the beginning, despite being in the market for just 18 months. The game has achieved so much in the highly competitive gaming industry. The game’s success is its appealing characters, graphics, combat systems, and amazing background music. All of this is added with the incredible open world and addictive exploration gameplay.

According to the report, Genshin Impact was the top-earning title worldwide during the period of Q1, 2022. The game made $1 billion in revenue every six months since the global launch of the game for mobile devices. Sensor Tower also made a report on the lifetime spending by Genshin Impact players by country. The report reveals that China stands first with 30.7%, followed by Japan at 23.7%, and US at third with 19.7%. The report also made comparisons between platforms, where App Store customers make up to 50.5% of the revenue, while Google Play customers make up to 49.5% of the revenue.

Although it is a big achievement for miHoYo, they are still not leading the global revenue generation charts dominated by mobile gaming giants like Honor of Kings and PUBG Mobile who are in the top positions. But it is worth noting that Genshin Impact has been in the market for only 18 months, and there are only a very few titles that have managed to do what Genshin Impact has done in such a short period.

The game saw a rapid growth in comparison to other game titles

The report by Sensor Tower suggests that Genshin Impact made the $1 billion in the first 171 days, averaging around 195 days for the second billion, having just crossed $3 billion 185 days after the second was acquired. Experts say that Genshin Impact might cross $4 billion in revenue if it grows at this rate.

Now that the 2.7 update is delayed, we can only wait to witness how fast miHoYo will be able to earn the next billion in revenue. Users can stay updated about all the information by visiting the official Genshin Impact website or following the official social media handles.
