A recent Twitter post from developer miHoYo has put the confirmation down that Yae Miko, who has been rumored to be a playable character in Genshin Impact for a long time now is now set to be introduced in the game officially in one of the future updates. Furthermore, according to reports from the leakers, players might get their chances to step into the shoes of the Grand Narukami Shrine overseer once Genshin Impact Update 2.5 goes live later this year.
In the past as well, the developers have done this a few times where they have teased character information on their socials just before their arrival, which is also why it’s safe to say that she will be a featured character in the Genshin Impact version 2.5 update.
About Yae Miko character in Genshin Impact
Yae Miko, also known as Guuji Yae is the Head Shrine Maiden of Grand Narukami Shrine which houses the Sakura Tree. Hailing from Inazuma and a descendant of Kitsune lineage, she plays a major role in the Archon Quest of Genshin Impact version 2.0. She is an old friend of Raiden Shogun and has accompanied her for a long time. Moreover, in the Archon quest, she takes the help of the Traveller in order to change the mind Ei and correct all the mistakes.
Going further deep into the details of this character, Yae Miko seems to be inspired by another character from miHoYo’s other action title Honkai Impact 3rd, where she has the name of Yae Sakura. They share the same design and aesthetics to some degree. Moreover, there are even theories suggesting that Yae Sakura is herself rechristened as Yae Miko and she has arrived on Tevyat from Honkai Impact’s universe.
When is Yae Miko’s banner arriving in Genshin Impact
Going by the recent tweets and leaks, it is almost confirmed that Yae Miko will be arriving in the Genshin Impact version 2.5 update. Moreover, based on the current patch duration, her banner may be available from February 2022 onwards, although there is no info on whether she will be in the first phase or the second one. However, take all the information with a pinch of salt, as everything depends on miHoYo and they might make last-minute changes regarding the arrival of this character.
