Chinese video game developer and publisher miHoYo is soon updating Genshin Impact with official controller support on iOS and Android devices. The announcement came in the Developers Discussion for the game that came on January 19, 2021. miHoYo has also revealed that the pre-installation for updates is coming to iOS and Android soon. Let’s look at all the other details discussed in the Genshin Impact Developers Discussion for January 2021 and all the benefits these may have for players in the future.
The official controller was something long overdue by the travelers of Genshin Impact. In the latest update, you won’t be able to use every controller with the iOS version. The game will support the Xbox Wireless Controller (Bluetooth version), Xbox Elite Series 2, PlayStation DualShock 4, and iOS-specialized Bluetooth controllers.
Developers Feedback for Genshin Impact
In the developer discussion, the first question focuses on pre-installation to mobile devices. miHoYo has replied, “We will be releasing pre-installation on mobile devices before the Version 1.3 update. This will reduce the amount of time needed to update game resources.”
The third question in the post reads, “We’d like to use controllers on iOS devices…QAQ”. To this, miHoYo replied, “The developers have heard your cries — from Version 1.3 onwards, devices that have had their operating systems upgraded to iOS 14 or higher will now support the Xbox Wireless Controller (Bluetooth Version), Xbox Elite Wireless Controller Series 2, PlayStation DualShock 4 Wireless Controller, and iOS-specialized Bluetooth controllers (partial support)! ”
The developer discussion also revealed that the Genshin Impact 1.3 update will also let players hold down a button to increase/decrease the amount consumed while enhancing. For those, who haven’t picked the game up because of issues related to the small screen, this update is going to be very helpful.
