Popular sci-fi RPG from SHIFT UP and Level Infinite, Goddess of Victory: NIKKE, is gearing up to celebrate its 2nd anniversary. The live broadcast, which took place on October 26, 2024, shared some exciting new details of what we players can get with the latest and massive game update, which I’ll discuss in this article.
Goddess of Victory: NIKKE 2nd Anniversary Update Overview
New SSR Characters
One of the talking points of this update is the number of characters that are coming.
New Character: SSR Cinderella
A new SSR character named Cinderella enters the game as part of the second-generation fairy tale models. She is a supporter who manipulates mirrors to reflect damage at enemies while boosting her allies’ critical rate. Her Burst Skill enhances survivability by providing shields based on allies’ missing HP.
New Character: SSR Rapunzel: Pure Grace
Rapunzel: Pure Grace joins as a free character available through the anniversary selection pool. This version of Rapunzel focuses on healing over time and can resurrect fallen allies once per match. Her Burst Skill grants immunity to status effects for a brief duration. He comes with the SR: Holy Grace weapon.
New Character: SSR Grave
Grave is a mysterious character who carries a coffin and joins the game on November 7, 2024, through a limited-time event. As a damage dealer with debuffing abilities, Grave’s Burst Skill allows her to sacrifice part of her own HP to unleash a powerful AoE attack. She belongs to the Attacker class and wields a weapon named Writer’s Eraser, with Dark as her code.
New Costumes
The update also includes new costumes, such as Scarlet’s Black Shadow “Longing Flower” available from the costume gacha section after the update’s live. Isabel’s “Honeymoon Party” will be unlockable via the story event pass, while D: Killer Wife “Secret Party Cleaner” will feature in the November monthly pass. Cinderella’s “Glass Princess” costume will go on sale at the costume shop starting November 7, 2024.
Story Event, Gameplay Additions, and Mini-Game
The OLD TALES event, set to begin on October 31, 2024, will transport you approximately 100 years back in NIKKE history. This event delves into the origins of the second-generation fairy tale models, with Cinderella as the primary protagonist. This will be introducing new characters like Hansel and Gretel, Red Shoes, and Little Mermaid, each with unique abilities that complement the storyline.
NIKKE’s main scenario has been expanded with the addition of Chapters 33 and 34 which comes with more story content and challenges. A new heretic boss called Behemoth will also make its debut. The outpost is also being featured as part of the celebrations.
As you progress, you will experience Cinderella’s journey through a thematic map designed around mirrors and glass, reflecting her emotional shifts. A special minigame titled In The Mirror, a 2D action experience in the Metroidvania style, will also be featured.
Live and Online Events
Alongside the in-game festivities, NIKKE has planned various live and online events. An orchestra concert will feature iconic pieces from the game, allowing fans to enjoy the music of their favorite characters and scenes live. At Comic Market 105, a major pop culture event in Japan, NIKKE will showcase exclusive products and special content for fans.
A Global Creators Competition is also underway, inviting artists and content creators to submit work inspired by the NIKKE universe. Selected entries will receive prizes and may be featured in official in-game media, as well, so if interested, check the game’s social media for announcements.
