HomeBois is crowned as the champion of MPL Malaysia Season 12

The team is qualified for the M5 World Championship!

Malaysia’s professional Mobile Legends league for 2023, the MPL Malaysia Season 12, is over with HomeBois being crowned as the champion. This is the team’s first major league trophy. In the cut-to-throat final match, the champion team defeated Team SMG by a 4-3 scoreline.

Being the champion, HomeBois also qualified for the coming grand event of MLBB esports, the M5 World Championship. On the other hand, runner-up Team SMG will have to play in the M5 Wildcard stage. Before the end of the event, it started on the 18th of August 2023 with 10 qualified teams. The event featured a prize pool of $100,000.

The champion team’s run in the MPL Malaysia Season 12

The champion HomeBois qualified for the playoff stage from the regular week battles by securing the third position. Thus the team started the playoff in the UB quarterfinals. Defeating Team HAQ by 2-0 has placed them in the next round to face RSG Malaysia, the regular season winner. After a tough battle, HomeBois took the game by 2-1 and advanced to the next round.

In the upper bracket final, the champions were greeted by Red Giants Esports. The match was taken by the trophy holder without losing a single round. Finally, the team faced Team SMG in the grand final. HomeBois took the first two rounds and looked sharp to the game but SMG turned back and won three out of the last four rounds, placing both the teams on 3-3. The final round became the determiner match and showing incredible gameplay, HomeBois won the round and made the scoreline 4-3.

The champion team received a massive share of the prize pool

MPL Malaysia Season 12 featured a total of $100,000 as the prize pool. Their rankings determined the allocation for each team. However, winning the event has given HomeBois the biggest share, which is $25,000. The runner-up Team SMG bagged $12,000 while the third and the fourth-placed teams took $5,000 and $3,000 respectively. Xorn from HomeBois became the MVP of the grand final and won an additional $1,000.

With the trophy in hand and a slot in the M5, the MPL Malaysia Season 12 champion HomeBois will lead their country in the global event. Thus, fans will also want to watch the team perform their best.
