HoYoverse is gearing up to release Honkai: Star Rail Version 3.2 update, titled “Through the Petals in the Land of Repose,” on 9th April 2025. This update celebrates HSR’s much-awaited 2nd anniversary alongside bringing new maps and epic story expansions to the world of Amphoreus, as well as introducing new and playable 5-star characters such as Castorice and Anaxa!
New Area – The Ruined City of Styxia
Let’s talk lore and exploration, because Styxia might be one of the most chilling locations in HSR yet. A sunken, haunted city filled with colossal dragon bones and restless souls? The vibe is impeccable! We’re diving into an ancient mystery tied to the Titans and a draconic calamity.
The story isn’t just ghosts and ruins, though. We’ve got political drama brewing in Okhema, secret alliances, and a Council of Elders trying to shut everything down. Meanwhile, the mysterious scholar Anaxa is lurking in the background with his shadowy agenda.
New Playable Characters in HSR Version 3.2
Castorice
Castorice is a 5-Star Quantum Unit following the Path of Remembrance. Her kit revolves around her Netherwing, a spectral dragon that burns its own HP to deal high damage.
She even has a near-death revival mechanic, which is a global passive. This means if one of your allies dies in the party, they get revived. This passive works even when Castorice is not on the team!
Anaxa
Anaxa is a 5-Star Wind Unit following the Path of Erudition. His kit revolves around Weakness-inflicting, follow-up attack-spamming playstyle. His Ultimate instantly stacks Weakness on all enemies, which sounds good for breaking shields.
Rerun Banners
For those who missed them, Fugue, Jiaoqiu, and Acheron are coming back in the first half, while Dr. Ratio returns in the second half.
Balance Changes for Older Units
In Version 3.4, Silver Wolf, Blade, Kafka, and Jingliu are getting buffs. We don’t know the details yet, but considering how much power creep has hit, I’d say it’s about time!
Anniversary Celebration: Free Pulls and Characters
This patch is also celebrating Star Rail’s 2nd Anniversary with some great freebies! The Festive Gifts event is handing out 20 free pulls just for logging in, which is already solid. But on top of that, April 26th, the official anniversary day, drops a commemorative card from a companion + 1,600 Stellar Jades into our inboxes!

Star Rail WORLD and Concert Event
The game is going all out for its second anniversary, with a global concert livestream on May 3rd, real-life screenings, and regional offline events.
