Tencent Games has announced that its popular MOBA, Honor of Kings, is getting its very own animated series, titled Honor of Kings: Destiny. This one was revealed during the SPARK 2025, where they also revealed that Honor of Kings: World‘s has opened pre-registration in China.
Honor of Kings: Destiny animated series is premiering next month on Crunchyroll
The upcoming animated series, Honor of Kings: Destiny, is expected to premiere on May 31, 2025, on Crunchyroll, and I couldn’t be more excited. This series will revolve around the beloved hero Kaizer, with other characters like Luna also making their appearance.
Kaizer, a powerful fighter/tank hero in the game, was once a noble before a curse on his family turned his life upside down. I believe that in this 3D animated series, we will get to see a detailed backstory of him, especially the journey that led him to the Great Wall, where he became one of its guardians.
HoK Destiny looks promising with impressive visuals and animation
From what we can see from the trailer, the animation looks impressive. The visuals are captivating, and Kaizer’s design even looks like Vergil from Devil May Cry, as many fans also noticed. I believe it could be a huge thing if Tencent can pull off something even close to what happened to League of Legends after Arcane.
If you are unaware, this isn’t their first try at animation, either. They previously had a short animated episode, The Way Of All Things, on Prime Video’s Secret Level, which also introduced mid-laner Yi Xing and his backstory. And to me, Honor of Kings: Destiny is going to be big if done right.
While this is exciting, there’s even more from Honor of Kings. The game is teaming up with the successful Chinese animated film, Ne Zha 2, which grossed over $2.1 billion. And during SPARK 2025, Tencent also revealed that a new hero inspired by the Three Warring States period will be joining the game.
