The Chinese version of Tencent’s popular 5v5 MOBA, Honor of Kings, is reportedly to introduce a 10v10 mode soon. Besides the latest update, the game will also come with a new map and a ranked system for the upcoming addition. The exact dates for when the modes and updates will come are not revealed yet.
Honor of Kings will bring 10v10 mode and a bigger map with an extra lane
The current and mainstream version of Honor of Kings follows the universal 5v5 mode along with a few other types of gameplay. Its global adaptation, Arena of Valor, also comes with the same format and maps. At present, the game features 1v1, 3v3, and 5v5 modes in PvP format.
However, the upcoming update will change the PvP system, making it more intense as 10 players will be able to play against the other 10. In simple words, the game is going to introduce a 10v10 mode. Only coming in the China-exclusive version of Honor of Kings, photos showed additional exciting features as well.
So far the map in Honor of Kings consists of three main lanes (top, middle, and bottom). But after the change is made soon, a new map will be introduced to house the contenders. From a photo shared by Honor of Kings (HoK) Global News on Twitter, the upcoming map looked a lot bigger with four lanes. The number of additional items is still unknown.
Ranked system will be available for the 10v10 mode in Honor of Kings, the global release is unknown
The game is pretty serious about the upcoming inclusion of a 10v10 mode as it is going to feature the ranked system in the new mode as well. The most likely thing will be keeping a separate ranking system for the game. Despite mixed opinions spotted on the Twitter post, it will be a new milestone for the title. However, it isn’t confirmed if the global version will have the same update shortly.
Honor of Kings was released in 2015 and has reached several milestones. It is the highest-grossing mobile game of all time, one of the most downloaded apps globally, and one of the most popular games in the MOBA genre. The global release of the title was first announced by Level Infinite in 2022 with a launch date set on the 20th of June 2024 at a later date.
