Honor of Kings: Level Infinite’s MOBA will be released globally

Big announcement for MOBA lovers!

Honor of Kings, the highest-grossing mobile game of all time will be soon available for gamers outside Mainland China. The game has over 100 million daily active players and is one of the most popular MOBA games of all time. The game is developed by TiMi Studios, which is a subsidiary of Tencent Games and published by Tencent Games. Honor of Kings will soon be released globally with the global version being published by Level Infinite.

The company have announced on Twitter that they are working on the global version of the game which will be “rolled out by the end of this year”. The developers have also mentioned that they are planning to conduct closed beta tests from July.

Honor of Kings: Game details

The game features all the mechanics of a standard MOBA game, where players do take control of a character, with unique skills and abilities to vanquish their opponents. Various kinds of damage can be dealt to opponents like Physical Damage, Magical Damage, Critical Damage and Real Damage.

The game stands out among all the MOBA titles with its unique game modes which are:

  • Rift of Kings (5v5)
  • Battle of Changping (3v3)
  • Mo Zi’s Lane Gear (1v1)

The game achieved a milestone when it crossed 100 million active users in November 2020. The game consistently maintained a huge player base in China, which was the reason for it being the first mobile game to cross $10 billion in revenue.

Honor of Kings global version: Release date

As of now, the developers have not confirmed a particular release date. Since they have mentioned that the game will be launched later this year, it can be expected between October and December.

Tencent’s plan to launch Honor of Kings globally once again proves the company’s dominance in the mobile gaming industry. It is interesting to note that the company was struggling to make their own MOBA a few years back and now they are planning to take on the global market with their own game.

However, this latest update is also generating buzz regarding Tencent’s plans for Arena of Valor, which is the western version of Honor of Kings, available outside China. The company revealed the Esports roadmap for the game last December. Players are currently awaiting an official statement from the company on the future of Arena of Valor.
