Over the past few years, tower defense games have built a fanbase of their own for the category. With so many tower defense games available in the market, players are constantly in search of something new in the category. Now, Montreal-based single-person game development company Gridpop is set to release Isle of Arrows, which is a fusion of Tower defense and board game.
The game is solely developed by Daniel Lutz, who is well-known to be the Creative Director for Hitman GO and Lara Croft GO at Square Enix Montreal. The game will be available on both Android and iOS platforms, and players can wishlist the game now.
Isle of Arrows is a game based on tower defense and board game, in which the fusion is very unique and at the same time, very interesting. Players will place randomly-drawn tiles to build defenses on a constantly growing price of land. The combination of tower defense and board game genres, adds a new strategic puzzle element to the existing tower defense formula.
In each round, players will place randomly drawn tiles on the Isle and defend the land from invaders. Isle of Arrows has three game modes, campaign mode, gauntlet mode, and daily defense mode which will push players to experience uniqueness during the game. The game features a rogue-like format, where each run is randomly generated with different tiles, enemies, rewards, and events that constantly change.
