After being removed from the Google Play Store and Apple App Store in March this year for further development, Jetpack Joyride 2 is now all set to make a comeback to the mobile gaming scene as an Apple Arcade exclusive on August 19th.
Jetpack Joyride 2 returns as an Apple Arcade exclusive
The game is the sequel to Jetpack Joyride which was released early in 2011. Since its release, the series has been an absolute hit across the world. It was developed by Halfbrick Studios, the same studio that gave us globally famous games like Fruit Ninja.
Earlier this year in March, the team at Hard Brick Studios announced that the game had “entered a new closed phase of development for an indefinite period” and will be taken down from both Google Play Store and Apple App Store until further notice.
The game will be story-driven keeping the core gameplay the same
Jetpack Joyride 2 was extremely famous in the gaming community because of its endless side-swiping gameplay where players had to dodge incoming missiles and hazards. In addition to this, the game had been refurbished to meet the modern gaming requirements with added features like HD Gameplay, smooth in-game mechanics, and a fresh modern looking game style.
But since the developers took it down and stated that the game will undergo changes, players across the world kept thinking if the game was going to be completely different and what would happen to the storyline. But now, developers have revealed that the core gameplay will remain the same and that the whole gaming experience will now be “story-driven”.
Now, the game will be launched exclusively on Apple Arcade on August 19th. Apple Arcade is a premium gaming subscription that allows players to enjoy their favorite games without any annoying advertisements or disturbance, the monthly subscription is priced at $4.99 and has a variety of games included in it. Pre-registration for Jetpack Joyride 2 is now live on Apple Arcade.
