KRAFTON Inc founded a brand-new independent studio called ReLU Games on June 1 and named MJ Kim, the former CEO of KRAFTON’s Special Project 2, as the CEO. ReLU Games will concentrate on deep learning-based game creation as KRAFTON’s eleventh independent firm.
ReLU Games will keep trying to leverage deep learning technology to increase the fun factor of games, carrying on the spirit of KRAFTON’s internal incubating program “Special Project II” established in 2020. It intends to use the knowledge and concepts gained by running Special Project II over the last three years, along with deep learning-based game creation techniques, to create its new games.
ReLU Games to launch its first project “FOONDA: AI Puzzle” utilizing deep learning technology
“FOONDA: AI Puzzle,” the first project from ReLU Games, seeks to give consumers a highly customized puzzle experience by building a puzzle stage using deep learning technology. In 3Q23, FOONDA: AI Puzzle’s mobile version will be made available. Additionally, ReLU Games will work on several projects to investigate how deep learning might increase the fun factor of games, such as Project Orchestra, which uses speech recognition technology.
To innovate game creation techniques, KRAFTON is focused on deep learning in 2023. KRAFTON will begin seriously integrating deep learning technology with game content with the launch of ReLU Games and will keep making audacious deep learning investments.
