The UK and global mobile, PC, and console games developer and publisher, Kwalee, expresses their enthusiasm in announcing Mark Greenshields as the new Vice President of their Bangalore Studio. With an extensive background in the gaming industry spanning decades, Greenshields brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise to this position.
Mark Greenshields steps into a leadership role at Kwalee with a rich gaming history
Throughout his career, the individual in question boasts an impressive track record. Notably, as the Founder and CEO of Firebrand Games, he accomplished remarkable feats. He successfully developed multiple game engines and introduced major intellectual properties derived from Disney, Pixar, and EA franchises.
During his tenure at Firebrand, he positioned his company as the premier racing studio, credited with six of the top 10 Metacritic-rated Nintendo racing games. His career is marked by skillfully managing sizable teams in diverse locations, blending his capacity to influence partners and inspire his team with his keen business sense and the ability to consistently deliver high-quality games punctually and within budget.
Commencing as a self-taught programmer, Greenshields penned four programming books, including classic titles such as “Mastering Machine Code On Your Commodore 64,” with a focus on 8-bit game development. He personally programmed 35 games, oversaw the production of hundreds more, and progressed from a lone programmer to establishing several game development studios.
In his current role at Kwalee, Greenshields assumes the key responsibility of overseeing the Bangalore studio. However, in his capacity as a senior leader, he will also play a pivotal role in shaping strategic decisions and contributing to Kwalee’s ambitious growth strategies. As Kwalee has evolved into a publisher of games across mobile, PC, and console platforms, Greenshields’ expertise in launching and adapting successful games will be an invaluable asset to the company.
