Uruguay-based game developer Ironhide Game Studio, known for the popular Kingdom Rush series announced its title Legends of Kingdom Rush to be released on Apple Arcade. The first part of the series was released in 2011, followed by the second part named Kingdom Rush: Frontiers in 2013. The third part named Kingdom Rush: Origins was released in 2014 while the fourth part named Kingdom Rush Vengeance was released in 2018.
According to the developer, “the new title is an RPG game with rogue-like elements where the players will lead a party of heroes to stop an extraplanar menace.” The gameplay is based on Kingdom Rush but the players will experience a fresh narrative. They will learn more about the Kingdom Rush universe with over 100 narrative events while fighting their way through rugged mountains, lush forests, and devastated wastelands.
Gameplay Overview
Legends of Kingdom Rush is a real-time defense strategy game set in a medieval fantasy setting. Here, the players will embark on an epic journey through the medieval fantasy world of Kingdom Rush. Each level presents a pre-determined path with empty slots all around known as Strategy Points, where the player can build towers. There are four types of towers namely Mages, Archers, Barracks, and Artillery, each costing a certain amount of money to build and upgrade. At the beginning of each level, the player gets some money in order to build the first towers. As enemies begin to emerge from one end of the path, the towers must be able to kill them before they reach the other end of the path. Killing enemies generates money, which can readily be used to build and upgrade towers.Â
The RPG game will feature unique turn-based combat with legendary heroes and amazing companions. New Adventures await the players in the Kingdom with new achievements. The game will be available on both iPhone and iPad and you can pre-order the game here on Apple Arcade. Apple Arcade is included as part of Apple One or for a low monthly subscription of $4.99 with a one-month free trial.
