Mobile Legends: Bang Bang becomes the undisputed winner of the Mobile Esports Game Of The Year award at the GamingonPhone Awards 2025. The success came even before its grand showdown ahead, the M7 World Championship, which is to take place in January.

The 5th edition of the GamingonPhone Awards 2025 celebrated the best in mobile gaming with 30 exciting categories. Held on October 17 in Bangkok, Thailand, it marked the event’s first-ever in-person ceremony. Winners were decided through votes from the Jury, the Public, and the GamingonPhone editorial team. With over 240 finalists competing, this year’s edition was an extravagant celebration of mobile gaming excellence.

Mobile Legends was the most competitive and community-driven esports title in 2025. The game took mobile esports to a new level of height, setting a new limit in the competitive genre. Not only has the esports scene had a major uplift, but the community and fan engagement are also carefully maintained, thanks to the game’s dedicated and user-focused team.

The MOONTON Games‘ popular MOBA title spent a year full of achievements and continued making stories. From revealing the esports roadmap to implementing it, the domination continued in the mobile esports scene, both in terms of community engagement and competitive viewership.

The MSC 2025, one of its iconic events, was featured in the Esports World Cup 2025 and accumulated over 50.32 million hours of viewership. It accounted for over a quarter of the event’s total viewership. Besides, the concurrent viewership passed the 3 million mark. The Women’s Invitational (MWI) also accounted for a high number of viewers.

These milestones pushed the game forward in the race to win the award. The other nominations were PUBG MobileBrawl StarsHonor of KingsFree Fire, eFootballClash of Clans, and Pokémon UNITE. In a year that was filled with competition, Mobile Legends: Bang Bang took the edge.

Apart from the esports award, the game also dominated the other award categories. MOONTON Games, for their tremendous support to the players and community, was named Mobile Game Developer of the Year. Besides being the best esports title, its world champion of MSC 2025, Team Liquid Philippines, was crowned Mobile Esports Team of the Year. Moreover, popular athlete Karl “KarlTzy” Gabriel Dacer Nepomuceno clinched Mobile Esports Player of the Year.

The title, however, also won a few nominations. It was on the list of best Ongoing Game Of The Year, and Mobile Game Community of The Year. On the other hand, MOONTON Games PR Team was also nominated for the Best PR / Marketing Team of The Year.
