My Hero Academia: The Strongest Hero is coming to Europe and the Americas

From the popular Japanese superhero manga

From the wildly popular series My Hero Academia, Sony Pictures and Funimation have teamed up to bring this new mobile game out of Asia and to the west. My Hero Academia: The Strongest Hero will have its soft release in May 2021. However, it is worth noting that the game will be launching first in North America, Latin America, The United Kingdom, Ireland, Australia, New Zealand, Sub-Saharan Africa, Scandinavia, Central Asia, and Turkey.

The game was first demoed at China Joy 2019 and then subsequently released in China in 2020 and then later for Japan in December of that year. In China, the game was published by Tencent. So it’s safe to assume they had their hands in producing this game, which would explain why the quality is so high. It’s likely due to licensing over the Hero Academia IP why Funimation and their new owner Sony have their hands in this release.

The game is based on the hit superhero manga

Based on the hit Japanese superhero manga by Kohei Horikoshi, the story portrays Izuku Midoriya‘s struggles, adventures, and desire to become a superpower. The game trailer features gameplay with Midoriya, All Might, Bakugo, Ochako, Iida, Todoroki, Tsuyu and, Kirishima. The game is shown to feature a story mode where players are able to build their own team using their favorite members from the show. It was detailed that the game will have PVP and also an Allied Assault co-op mode.

When will My Hero Academia: The Strongest Hero release

The game is expected to soft-release in May 2021 in the mentioned countries. However, the full global release date is still unknown. Interested persons can visit the official website to pre-register for the game.
