Omega Strikers, the inaugural game from Odyssey Interactive, is a free-to-play competitive 3v3 knockout striker that has received positive reviews from gamers all around the world since its PC Open Beta opened in September 2022. Omega Strikers will fully release in February 2023 with native controls, complete cross-play, and cross-progression on mobile devices, according to Odyssey.
With participation from Anthos Capital, The Mini Fund, Andreesen Horowitz (a16z), and angel investor Mitch Lasky, Odyssey Interactive, an independent game development studio founded by former Riot Games leads on League of Legends and Teamfight Tactics has raised $19 million in a series A round led by Makers Fund.
Omega Strikers received an amazing response following its PC open beta
The team’s extensive knowledge in managing live service games from their years on League and Teamfight Tactics was on full display in the Omega Strikers PC Open Beta. Odyssey Interactive has already dropped three new strikers in the first month of live service and has two more planned for the months to come.
In response to player input, the studio is making significant balancing adjustments and will roll out more arenas, time-limited modes, and more chances to participate in mini-tournaments before the game launches.
“The reception to this early version of the game has humbled us – the fanart, streams, and highlight reels have given us a glimpse into the sort of impact we dream of having for players all over the world,” said Dax Andrus, co-founder of Odyssey Interactive. “Our goal as a dev team has always been to inspire and ignite the competitive spirit of players, and we believe we can hit that aspirational height by integrating their feedback from the beta, and by doubling down on launch.”
Omega Strikers is now available in Open Beta for PC via Steam and will launch to mobile devices with cross-platform and cross-progression capabilities in February 2023. Additional information can be found on the official website.
