Pokemon GO Air Adventures event: New Pokemon, Timed Research, Raids and more

Recently, Niantic has announced in their April 2022 Dev Diary that an update to Mega Evolution in Pokemon GO is now live in Australia and New Zealand and will be available globally soon. Mega Evolution is an evolution that transcends all others. And now, Niantic has announced that two Mega-Evolved Legendary Pokémon will soon make their Pokémon GO debuts in the Pokemon GO Air Adventures event.

Mega Latias and Mega Latios make their debut in Pokemon Go

From Tuesday, May 3, 2022, at 10:00 a.m. to Sunday, May 8, 2022, at 8:00 p.m. local time, Mega Latias and Mega Latios make their Pokémon GO debuts in Mega Raids.

Mist Ball Skill

  • Trainer Battles: 120 power and a chance to lower the opposing Pokémon’s Attack
  • Gyms and raids: 105 power

Luster Purge Skill

  • Trainer Battles: 120 power and a chance to lower the opposing Pokémon’s Defense
  • Gyms and raids: 100 power

Pokemon to be found in Wild Encounters

You can encounter the following Pokémon in the wild:

  • Flying Pikachu
  • Jigglypuff
  • Meowth
  • Psyduck
  • Doduo
  • Magikarp
  • Wingull
  • Swablu
  • Drifloon

If you’re lucky, you might encounter the following:

  • Charizard
  • Mantine

Timed Research

Timed Research focused on catching Pikachu and Flying-type Pokémon will be available throughout the event! Complete the research to earn 50 Latias Mega Energy, 50 Latios Mega Energy, 3,000 XP, and an encounter with Flying Pikachu.

The following Pokémon will be appearing in raids.

Three-Star raids

  • Charizard
  • Lapras
  • Togekiss

Mega Raids

  • Mega Latias
  • Mega Latios

Pokemon to be found in Eggs

The following Pokémon will hatch from 7 km Eggs.

  • Togepi
  • Mantyke
  • Emolga
  • Noibat

Field Research task encounters

You can encounter the following Pokémon when you complete Field Research tasks

  • Flying Pikachu
  • Doduo
  • Swablu
  • Emolga

Event Bonuses and New stickers

In the form of bonuses, the Egg Hatch Distance will be halved when Eggs are placed in an Incubator during the event period. Alongside this, You’ll be able to get event-themed stickers from the in-game shop. Ticket holders of the Pokémon Air Adventures live events from May 7th to May 8th will be able to get event-themed stickers by spinning PokéStops and opening Gifts.
