Niantic has announced new social features to help bring people together to enjoy Pokemon GO, new bonuses for participating in local raid battles, and changes to items in the in-game shop. This is a much-needed and long-awaited feature, and Niantic is looking forward to improving the social experience over time.
Trainers will get to play together again in person as Niantic brings new social features in Pokemon GO
The new social elements, some of which are based on a separate Niantic app, have been thoroughly tested and will be available in Pokémon GO in the coming months. These features are intended to make it easier for Trainers to connect with one another, discover new groups, and participate in local raid battles.
Mega Energy and Rare Candy XL are now available as rewards for completing local raid fights, making it easier for your Pokémon to evolve and stronger. Additionally, beginning May 23, the shop’s 1 PokéCoin Event Box will no longer provide Remote Raid Passes, instead featuring a changing selection of products.
Over the previous two years, trainers from all over the world have contributed to Pokémon GO’s popularity and growth. Niantic is looking forward to playing together again in person. Niantic will continue to work on solutions such as tools for community leaders to organize local events and faster approval for new Gyms to assist players who have difficulty getting to Gyms in Pokemon GO.
