Niantic has confirmed potential in-app purchase delays in Pokemon Go

Threat looms over the players ahead of Pokemon Go Fest 2021!

Pokémon Go players have been noting some issues with in-app purchases for the last several days. Niantic has now confirmed that such purchase delays might continue impacting Pokemon Go players for a bit longer. This is the worst possible time for such an issue to take place, as we are just days away from the biggest event of the year, Pokemon Go Fest 2021. Players who would have opted to buy any items from the store could face the risk to obtain the items during the Go Fest 2021. This could harm the use of such items during the Go Fest 2021.

In-app purchases could take 72 hours to appear in Trainer’s Item Bag

A small percentage of Trainers may experience a delay of up to 72 hours after making an in-app purchase for the item to appear in their Item Bag. Please be aware of this as we approach Pokémon GO Fest.

Niantic help

On the official ‘Known Issues‘ support page for Pokemon Go, Niantic has confirmed in a post that an ongoing issue of purchase could have players seeing delays of up to 72 hours. This time begins from the point of purchasing any in-game items to the item appearing in their Item Bag. According to Niantic, the delay has been mitigated in version 0.213 of Pokemon Go and the team is continuing to investigate the root cause.”

There is also a chance that these problem does not affect every player, who might not be bothered by the problem. But, it is a potential threat that looms over the community, ahead of the Pokemon Go Fest. The Pokemon Fest is set to run from July 17th, 2021 to the date of July 18th. Players might need to purchase items in advance to let the items be available on the days of the Pokemon Go Fest 2021.

Contact Support team to address issues

Niantic recommends contacting its support team with their purchase receipt if players do not receive their purchased items after 72 hours. It should also include the purchase order number and the email address attached to the Pokémon Go account. This method should also be used if a player is unable to access an event, such as Go Fest, due to any delays.
