The Pokemon GO Bug Out event is returning, and Niantic just revealed that it will run from Wednesday, August 10, 2022, at 10:00 a.m. through Tuesday, August 16, 2022, at 8:00 p.m. local time. Trainers can anticipate a number of both recognizable and novel prizes and bonuses. Get ready to work on your throws, make progress toward your Bug Catcher medal, and challenge Mega Scizor in Mega Raids!
Grubbin, Charjabug, and Vikavolt will make their Pokemon GO debuts
In the Bug Out event running from Wednesday, August 10, 2022, at 10:00 a.m. to Tuesday, August 16, 2022, at 8:00 p.m. local time, three new pokemon – Grubbin, Charjabug, and Vikavolt will make their debut in the game.
You can use 25 Grubbin Candy to evolve Grubbin into Charjabug. While you’re near an active Magnetic Lure Module, you can use 100 Grubbin Candy to evolve Charjabug into Vikavolt. Apart from these, Mega Scizor will make its Pokemon GO debut in Mega Raids! If you’re lucky, you may encounter a Shiny one!
A new Collection Challenge will be available
Prepare yourself for the Collection Challenge that every Bug Catcher dreams of seeing: Pokémon of the Bug type! To get the Bug Catcher Pose and 15,000 XP, finish the task. After the event, the stance will also be offered for sale in the in-game store.
Pokemon in Wild encounters
The following Pokémon will appear more frequently in the wild. Also, for the first time in Pokemon GO, you’ll be able to encounter Shiny Venipede—if you’re lucky!
Pokemon in Raids
The following Pokémon will be appearing in raids. Also, for the first time in Pokémon GO, Genesect with a Chill Drive will be appearing in five-star raids!
Pokemon in Field Research task encounters
The following Pokemon will be available to encounter when you complete Field Research tasks.
Event bonuses available in Bug Out event
2× XP for successfully catching Pokémon with Nice Throws, Great Throws, and Excellent Throws will be available. Apart from these, Bonuses for Groups will consist of rewards where players will get to work together with other Trainers to unlock additional bonuses! If three or more Trainers join an in-person Raid Battle, even more of a certain wild Bug-type Pokémon will appear for 15 minutes in a 300-meter radius around the Gym that hosted the raid! The Pokémon that will appear in greater numbers change each day.
Ultra Unlock event bonuses
- Additional Candy for successfully catching Pokémon with Nice Throws, Great Throws, and Excellent Throws.
- Increased chance for Trainers level 31 and up to receive Candy XL for successfully catching Pokémon with Nice Throws, Great Throws, and Excellent Throws.
Also, Unown T will appear in Raid Battles during the Bug Out! event!
Pansage, the Grass Monkey Pokémon, will appear in the wild and in raids around the world during the Bug Out! event! Timed Research focused on catching Bug-type Pokémon will be available throughout the event! Complete research tasks to earn items, Pokémon encounters, and Scizor Mega Energy!
