The latest patch notes for PUBG Mobile or BGMI 1.8.5 update in February have been announced and it will include a new arena map and a new event in the classic battle royale mode of the game. Here in this article, we will see what they are. The official announcement video is available on the official BGMI India YouTube channel.
PUBG Mobile or BGMI 1.8.5 Update: New event in collaboration with Jujutsu Kaisen
The upcoming patch update will bring in a new event in PUBG Mobile or BGMI in collaboration with the popular anime series Jujutsu Kaisen. It will appear as a playable mode in the classic battle royale mode in the game. The players will be able to choose the mode they want to play by switching it using the arrow button at the bottom of the map selections.
In the game mode, players will be able to meet four main characters from the anime in Spawn Island and will also be able to greet them by going close enough. Once the match starts, players will find special loot boxes scattered across the map, which when opened will avail battle gear for the players such as guns, attachments, and ammunition. It will also spawn currency that could be used to redeem items from the events tab.
Besides, players will also be able to pick up “Skull Grenades”, which when thrown against the ground will summon a boss who leaves behind more fighting gear once defeated. But players have to keep in mind that trying to detonate the grenade in constricted spaces might cause the maneuver to fail and the boss won’t appear.
The update introduces the brand new 8v8 Santorini map
After much anticipation ever since its first arrival in the beta release, the brand new 8v8 map Santorini will now finally be available for players. It is an improvised take on the already existing TDM mode with a bigger map, more angles, ladders among other stuff.
Also, instead of the standard rule of “First to 40 kills in 10 minutes wins”, the Santorini map will require 80 team kills to secure a win. For more details and an extensive walk-through of the map refer to our guide on PUBG Mobile or BGMI 8v8 TDM mode.
The update is expected to bring a much-awaited fresh new change
As always, PUBG Mobile or BGMI has kept to its system of scheduling two events per season, the first of the current season being the Spider-Man collaboration. Jujutsu Kaisen will be the second one and will run till the end of the season, whereafter another new event will come.
Also, the new Santorini map will be a breath of fresh air for players who are bored of playing the same maps since the inception of TDM in PUBG Mobile or BGMI. Overall, this is a pretty solid update to kick off the month with the collaboration which is bound to draw attention and entice more players into the game.
