[adult swim] games has announced the shutdown of its beloved turn-based RPG, Rick and Morty: Pocket Mortys, scheduled for April 13, 2026. This classic title based on the hugely popular series is now sunsetting after 10 years of memorable service.
Devs didn’t reveal any clear reason behind the EOS decision
So, Pocket Mortys is a multi-dimensional grandson fighting sim based on everyone’s favorite series, Rick and Morty. In this classic title, you play as Rick Sanchez, collecting, training, and evolving 400+ unique Mortys to defeat Ricks across the multiverse in Campaign or team up to battle raid bosses, and more.
Unfortunately, the Rick and Morty: Pocket Mortys Team announced via X (formerly Twitter) that the game would shutdown on April 13, 2026, stating, “After 10 amazing years, Pocket Mortys will come to an end.” That said, the team is yet to reveal the reason or decision behind this harsh step.
You can enjoy the game until EOS with everything for free to use
While the whole situation is pretty sad, the devs have decided to lighten the mood by making everything in-game free, along with all Morty rewards now available in the wild. And I appreciate that they haven’t removed the game from the app stores, letting everyone enjoy the final moments until the EOS date.
And understandably, a lot of fans are really sad to hear the news out of the blue, with some sharing “genuinely hurts bro ive played this for a long,” and others even being dramatic like “I dont even know what I’m going to do anymore.” What’s worse is there won’t be any offline version, and fans are demanding to “make it playable offline.“
