- Riot Games reportedly working on a new League of Legends-based title.
- Shanghai studio hiring across multiple roles for an unpublished R&D project.
- Game is said to be a Genshin-like experience, targeting PC and mobile.
Riot Games is reportedly planning its next title based on the League of Legends IP. The company’s Shanghai studio is opening multiple roles for an unannounced project currently in development, which is expected to arrive on PC and Mobile.
The pivot from the future FPS title is in line with the new League of Legends title rumours
As shared by SargeOP on X, the project is believed to be a HoYoverse’s Genshin Impact-like experience set in the League of Legends universe, which is quite interesting. This is being positioned as one of Riot Games’ next major titles, so curiosity definitely is at its high.

Now I did give a look at the official website of the game developer, and yes, there are already a lot of job openings. The listings cover areas like combat design, animation, gameplay engineering, and art direction, all tied to an unpublished R&D product.
There have already been multiple new games in development, with Valorant Mobile still yet to find space on our mobile devices. Meanwhile, reports for other titles are already FPS titles connected to the Valorant universe, which were made back in October last year, might have been scrapped for good.
The reports suggest that the Extraction FPS project, named “Project T”, may have been reworked or moved aside as priorities shifted. This goes in line with the current new project speculations, as the shelving aside of the other project was to make way for the new one, although nothing is officially confirmed.

So what now? We have no further info on this, but we can say that if Riot Games is truly working on a Genshin-like experience, the open-world touch on League of Legends would be fun. It will be a big-scale game, but we need to keep an eye on rumours about what the developments will look like.
