But 2022 is going to be a transformative year for the game. The developers are making sure that the game is filled with content so that players always have something new to look forward to.

Details of the Legends of Runeterra early 2022 roadmap

Riot Games has revealed the details of the expansion that will be released this year. This includes The Path of Champions 2.0, Runeterra Champions, Worlds 2022, free Arcane Jinx, and Vi skins. Also, there will be quality of life updates to existing skins, Pulsefire, highly-requested reworks to older champions. They have further said that except Worlds 2022 all the other content will be released in the first half of 2022.

A new form of expansion will be rolled out in Legends of Runeterra

In this early 2022 Roadmap map, Riot Games are changing the definition of “expansions” in Legends of Runeterra. There will be no grouping releases by “sets” like previous releases – i.e. Call of the Mountain, Empires of the Ascended, and Beyond the Bandlewood were all “sets” broken into 3 “expansion” releases revolving primarily around the newest region added to the game.

Expansions will be now standalone releases that expand content for both PvP and PvE. They believe that this allows more freedom to explore adding new champions and Storyful PvE adventures on a more regular basis.

Other major updates in the Legends of Runeterra early 2022 roadmap

Another major update is coming to the game which will allow champions to have skills from all other regions. For example, adding Jhin to your deck allows you to add cards with skills from all other regions. Jhin has been teased as the first Runeterra champion.

Additionally, it has been revealed that players will be granted free Arcane Jinx and Vi skins for Legends of Runeterra’s second anniversary in April 2022. Furthermore, Brett freeman director of strategy has confirmed that they aim to make richer and more dynamic skins that will have custom animations.
