Roblox responds to its worldwide server shutdown after 16 hours

The global outage is across all platforms and player counts have dropped abysmally

Roblox, the incredibly popular game platform with millions of users worldwide has now been having server issues for over 48 hours that have rendered the game unplayable for a majority of the game’s user base. Players haven’t been able to log in due to an unknown internal system issue and it seems like the team over at Roblox is having a hard time fixing it since the worldwide server shutdown outage has lasted quite long.

According to Roblox Status, a Twitter account that isn’t affiliated with Roblox but is a reputed source for everything related to Roblox had revealed that the issue was being faced by a lot of players. The player count of more than 3 million worldwide players before the system issues were decimated and the game has now reached a low of only 300,000 players online.

Players disappointed as Roblox suffers its longest ever setback

Roblox has made only recently made a single official announcement from their social media account confirming this as an internal system issue and that a fix is being worked on. Even Roblox status’s prediction of the game coming back online approximately 6 hours after the problem was first detected was proved wrong.

The game has taken a huge hit with the current issue being the longest shutdown in the history of the game. According to RoMonitor Stats another Twitter account the game has gone from a staggering 5.1 million active players to 0 players within 24 hours due to this persistent issue.

As of now, the devs are working hard and making progress to ease up the situation bit by bit but there is still an issue for the majority of the players to login and access the game. Currently, there’s no clarity on when the issues will be permanently fixed until Roblox makes an official statement however it’s likely a pretty major problem if it’s taking them so long.

Roblox worldwide server shutdown

For those unaware of the game, Roblox is a multiplayer game platform that allows users to create their own games and then other players can try out those creations. The game grosses more than $3 Million daily on iOS in the United States alone and is incredibly popular among younger audiences with a lifetime revenue of more than $2 Billion. The game is available on the Google Play Store and the App Store. The game is free to download and play but gets its revenue from its in-game currency called Robux.
