Spike Chunsoft, known for Danganronpa S: Ultimate Summer Camp, and more, has revealed that their dungeon RPG, Shiren the Wanderer: The Mystery Dungeon of Serpentcoil Island Plus, will launch on Android and iOS in Japan for 3,500 yen or $22. Initially released on Switch and PC in 2024, this mobile release brings all previously released free and paid content.

Here, you can dive into a variety of dungeons that range in difficulty, and each run feels different because the world shifts every time.

In this lore, Shiren and his talking ferret partner Koppa receive a mysterious vision of a distant land and a girl in danger, which sends them toward Serpentcoil Island. However, they soon discover that many other adventurers and warriors have also arrived, all chasing a legendary treasure hidden inside a monster.
Players can collect tools, team up with allies, and ask for Rescue
As you explore, you need to adapt to sudden twists while collecting tools and finding allies to survive the deeper floors. For me, the randomness is part of the charm since the may layout, the items you find, and the placement of both enemies and friendly faces change every run.
And there is this one system that stands out to me, which is the Rescue system, letting you call for help if you fall during a dungeon crawl. This allows you to continue the run without losing progress. Overall, the game looks delightful with its Japanese aesthetics, cute characters, dungeons, and more.
Shiren the Wanderer: The Mystery Dungeon of Serpentcoil Island Plus is set to launch on both Android and iOS in Japan. However, the game is yet to be listed on the app stores, and the launch date will be announced later, so stay tuned!
