Square Enix joins hands with Oasys as a validator for its blockchain system

Both companies will be working on decentralized games to bring in development!

Japanese video game developer and publisher Square Enix has partnered with Oasys. Oasys is a known company for its EVM compatible and Proof-of-Stake (PoS) based eco-friendly blockchain. Joining hands with Oasys makes Square Enix the last of the 21 initial validators. Big fishes like SEGA, Ubisoft, Netmarble, Wemade, Com2uS, etc. are already in the validator list. With the partnership, both companies will be working to bring decentralized games where users will take vital roles on the Oasys blockchain.

The partnership will help Oasys to accelerate the collective mission of both companies to bring blockchain gaming to the masses. Daiki Moriyama, Director at Oasys, said, “With our partnership, we will be able to truly bring new experiences and empower gaming fans from all backgrounds while helping to establish the next stage of growth for blockchain entertainment.”

Decentralizing games will let players have superior power over the developers

The concept of ‘Web3’ games is a revolutionary idea in the gaming industry. Players will be able to own any in-game items and use them for further earning digital currencies or other sorts of profits. The authoritative power of the IP owners will fade if the industry comes forward with the new generation idea of Web3, making games decentralized. This is where Square Enix will be focusing on.

Square Enix has many popular titles in its bag including Final Fantasy, Dragon Quest, and Kingdom Hearts. The company decided to take afull commercialmove toward the blockchain market in 2022. On the other hand, Oasys focuses to create an ecosystem for blockchain games. As the company is claiming, the participation of the community, AAA game developers, and the Oasys-made blockchain will offer the best user experience along with experience with fast transactions and free gas fees for users.
