Tencent’s Tarisland accused of World of Warcraft knockoff

Something looks fishy with the new Tencent's MMORPG

Tarisland, an MMORPG title developed by the gaming giants Tencent is trending as of now but for all the bad reasons, the game is being heavily accused by the fans online for being a cheap knockoff for the game World of Warcraft developed by another game studio Blizzard Entertainment.

The in-game environment and features look very similar to the hit title World of Warcraft

The new MMORPG is not having a good start ahead of its scheduled launch for mobile and PC in China. And even before the game was launched in China, fans after having sneak peeks of the gameplay concluded that the game looks awfully similar to World of Warcraft a game that has the same genre and was a hit title during its time of release.

More specifically the fanbase of the game, World of Warcraft has been enraged and raising main questions regarding the authenticity of the game. The striking feature which is doing absolutely no favors to Tencent is the fact that the main features in the game are also the same as World of Warcraft offered. The striking feature of the game, Tarisland is the recently introduced dragon-riding system, which was also a part of World of Warcraft in the new expansion pack released recently.

Another point that should be noted down is the fact that Tencent announced the game just after the news of Blizzard Entertainment’s servers being closed in China surfaced. This could suggest and back the existing rumors of the former trying to capture the market already established by the latter by Tencent looking to draw on the existing World of Warcraft fan base.

The game, Tarisland will see players take on an MMORPG experience, with features available in the game like, riding a dragon soaring in the sky, going down a raid, fighting a giant boss Raid through dungeons with friends. The game as of now is expected and aimed to launch in China, no information is available on a global release if it happens.
